Yamaha YSP2700 (Black)
"The most convincing surround sound experience you'll get outside a full 5.1 system." 'What Hi-Fi? magazine'. 5-star review. Tested at £800.
Surround sound from a single speaker
The Yamaha YSP-2700 offers the illusion of speakers all around without the associated boxes and wires. The Yamaha does this by bouncing sound off the walls, from just two sources (including the subwoofer) to give a room-filling sound that could easily convince you in to thinking there are many more speakers at work. With 16 dedicated speakers and amps, the surround sound effect is the most convincing of any soundbar in its class.
IntelliBeam for the most tailored response
IntelliBeam ensures optimum multi-channel set-up by constant and precise monitoring and analysis of sound output via the supplied microphone. A wide choice of beam settings let you tailor the sound to your exact requirements including whether you're listening to stereo music or film in surround sound.
Powerful bass response
Thanks to the separate, active subwoofer, this soundbar also has real clout. With its dedicated amplifier, the subwoofer puts the 'thud' into action films, for armrest-gripping home cinema. The subwoofer is wireless, too, meaning that it can be placed wherever is convenient in the room (mains connection required).
MusicCast for music all around your home
The Yamaha YSP2700 is fully compatible with Yamaha's hugely impressive network audio system, MusicCast. With MusicCast you can control all your compatible Yamaha MusicCast products via your smartphone or tablet. Play the same music on all the components or split the sound into different zones for different moods in each room; the choice is yours.
Advanced networking including Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth
Built-in Apple AirPlay means that you can stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly. If you use another brand of smartphone or tablet then you've also got Bluetooth, for easy music streaming from your portable device.
Wi-Fi, DLNA and a smart app for effortless streaming
Also standard with the YSP-2700 is Wi-Fi, giving easy connection to your home network. A DLNA certified connection makes streaming a breeze. You can access your stored music from PC, laptop or NAS drive and listen to Internet radio stations and music services such as Spotify Premium, Qobuz and Napster. Another great feature is the free Apple or Android app that lets you control many of the soundbar's functions from your smartphone, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or tablet.
Connect it all
Featuring three HDMI inputs, it's easy to connect up a Blu-ray player, games console and set-top box, as well as your TV. The sockets are compatible with HDR, HDCP2.2 and UHD 4K, meaning they'll work with the current generation of UHD4K Blu-ray players and TVs. Other inputs include both optical and coaxial digital inputs plus analogue phono inputs for your music sources.
Sleek new style
With a height of just 51mm, the YSP2700 is much slimmer than its predecessors. This low height means that it won't block your TV's picture or remote sensor. The minimalist design and aluminium chassis matches the sleekest TVs. Tuck the subwoofer out of sight and you'll have room-filling sound without the visual impact of traditional surround sound systems.
Get the impact of the cinema without the boxes, with the Yamaha YSP2700.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Voden0565 from Great sound worth the money I bought this 2 weeks ago having spent a lot of time researching soundbars & asking the staff at richer sounds if there was any others they would go for. I’m glad I bought the Yamaha YSP2700 the sound is immense and you definitely get the surround sound experience, overall well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mininav from Much better than my old Yamaha yst 401 Lack of a manual created problems in setting up soundbar to both internet and the TV. However, with excellent help from instore staff (Tony) and a home visit (Elliott) all was ready to go. The quality of internet streaming is amazing and the diction on TVprogrammmes is much clearer than before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from A Soundbar With A Difference. I bought this soundbar from the York shop, June 2019. Gavin, the store assistant was brilliant, he took the time to show me what soundbars they had and what you got for your money, playing clips from a feature film though different units to make comparisons to one another. The Yamaha wasn't the cheapest but the sound quality was amazing and so much better than the cheaper options. I found spending a little bit more money for a massive step up in sound quality was well worth it and anyone looking to upgrade the sound quality of their tv set really needs to check this soundbar out. What with the service and competitive prices of Richer Sounds you don't need to look any further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RH Cherrypicker from Just the job! I needed to replace my Panasonic Cinema system which gave up. I wanted something of quality with great sound and clear speech etc. The Panasonic had a bit too much bass and speakers everywhere if you get my drift. The Yamaha’s a great replacement which I can now hear and understand the speech. Good adjustments for volume and bass. I like the idea of just a sound bar and a sub woofer. Apps and stuff all good. Great easy connection which allows for other connections with ease. Looks good without being too obtrusive. I am sure there are cheaper options, but don’t bother you get what you pay for. (Just my opinion). I was a bit optimistic about the Yamaha’s Music Cast. But no worries as it’s brilliant due to being wi-fi and not iffy Bluetooth. The wife likes it too so must be good. In a nutshell, well worth the money. Obviously you will get some folk that lets say “have a slightly different opinion”, but for the record I am a bit fussy! Found it on Richer Sounds at a good price. Delivery was great too and staff very helpful. Buy and enjoy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveShack from So that is what quality sounds like! The dialog is crystal clear, the sound quality is outstanding, and the surround sound very convincing even though there are no rear speakers with this system. I bought it to replace a basic Sony 80W soundbar, and I am very glad I did. Alan at Richer Sounds was very helpful, and his in depth knowledge helped me make the right choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RJP1234 from Great upgrade from an already good system I previously had a onkyo dolby atmos seperate system, which until recently I was really happy with. I decided that I wanted to reduce the amount of wall space, taken up by speakers (the onkyo fronts are huge). I went on a month Google trawl to find a soundbar that could replicate what I had. After considering a number of choices, the spec, reviews & price lead me to the Yamaha ysp-2700. I was initially nervous about the stated 107wts of overall power but after listening to it in the shop I was convinced that a high wattage system wasn't necessary. Even in the shop I heard sounds coming from everywhere. Once purchased & set up at home I can honestly say that I have never heard anything like it before. It really convinces the senses to believe that there are discreet speakers all around the room. OK, so it doesn't have atmos capabilities but I really do not miss it. For the price I really don't think there's anything out there to compare.

Rated 4 out of 5 by stubru360 from Sounds good, surround effect is "OK" This replaces a dedicated 5.1 system, whilst I never expected it to compare in terms of actual surround performance, the Yamaha does a decent enough job of doing so. Sound is clear and punchy, but musically, using the Stereo setting is a little weaker than watching movies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pugsley from New sound bar Yamaha They were fantastic. I bought what was quite an expensive product which I saw advertised £50 cheaper a week later on amazon. All credit to them they paid me back the difference without fuss or complaint as the price dropped a week after I had bought it. Top customer service. Also fantastic product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by iMiMx from Not especially sold. Not as good as YSP3300 I had the previous generation, YSP-3300, which was far superior in every way. I'm a little disappointed in this model. Too much of the sound frequency comes from the sub, on the previous model YSP-3300 it did not, this means that rather than being non-directional sound only, directional sound DOES come from the sub. This makes it annoying, as you can hear parts of the sound coming from the direction of the sub.... which is fine if it's central-ish....but subs don't tend to be! Pretty poor when it comes to music, huge gaps in the tonal range.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Gatvol from Over priced. Form over function I have had numerous Yamaha AV products over the past 20 years. This looks beautiful but simply cannot cope with a large room. Well designed, everything about it is really good, apart from the sound. I think that a sound bar with wireless rear surrounds would be a better option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MikeCP from Great sound for TV, movies and music I bought the Yamaha soundbar a month ago and have been really impressed with the results. It was easy to set up and worked first time, including the ARC feature that controls power on/off and volume with the Sky remote. Using the auto speaker setup to provide surround sound in my room was a breeze. I’m a big fan of a MusicCast so playing music from various sources is great and it delivers rich, room filling sound. The only bugbear I have is that the finish shows every finger print, something I noticed in store. So, clean and don’t touch ! Overall, very pleased

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Soundbar After speaking advice from richer sounds and being told the wattage would be more than enough was very disappointing that your having to turn the vume right up and I mean right up to get any decent sound , we do listen to music thru the soundbar on the odd occasion which on our old Samsung was more than capable and was told this would be on par and it's far far from it very disappointed a very expensive mistake after being given poor advice , as wasnt one set up in shop so did take there word on it obviously I shouldn't of .. and if I had of been able listen to in the shop I wouldn't of bought as the rms is a joke and was told was a lot more in the shop , once set up and looked on line what i was told in shop was totally different , after going back to shop and mentioning this and that i was disappointed it was obvious he had no interest at all

Rated 4 out of 5 by MartynC from A lot of sound for the money. I use my sound bar on my LG TV and also via an Echo Dot to Amazon Music. Its ability to provide a wide sound field from the TV and especially with films is remarkable once properly set up. I don't think it sounds quite as smooth in the LF register as the big Sonos system but it's much cheaper and has more connectivity options which suit my application perfectly. Very pleased with the results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JamieT76 from Great sound system After what seemed like a complicated set up that took ages we finally worked out how to get it correctly connected and set up, and the sound from this sound bar is just amazing! Watched movies and listened to music on it and it’s really impressive the quality and the power in this sound bar and the sub delivers just the right amount of bass we need. Very happy to have brought this and extremely happy with the service received from ordering by phone, the advice given and that I was recommended an item that is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to order from home and was with me in good time. Richer sounds delivers again which is why they’re always my first choice to go to for all my audio equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cookie02392 from Suprised at how accomplished with Music it is After "Doing" seperates over many years, and previously owning a YSP-2500 that the ex. wife kept, I was in a position to "geek" out again. I cant have wires everywhere due to the design of my rented Barn Conversion, but i knew what i needed... What i am most surprised by, is that i thought the musicality of the YSP-2700 wouldn't be that good, but actually, sub in the corner, the Bar under the TV at 1M off the floor in a high celinging, long, narrow room, the sound, well, it very engaging. I was expecting not to use the YSP-2700 for music, but actually, with Spotify Connect, i am finding it's 90% of my use with the YSP-2700, not that movies are not fantastic, but i'm finding all sorts of music again thanks to such a great sound. I work from Home 3 days a week, and most of the time have music playing, it's always a great sound, and never tiring. i think maybe 30hours a week on average, and i never get fatigued, which ultimately is the best compliment. Sure a decent seperates system would be more engaging, but i love the sound, the convenience of Spotify Connect, and it's perfect for what i want, which is ultimately what we all want. Movies and the way the YSP-2700 bounces effects around the room, a strong but not over powering bass, and good intergration between the Bar and the Sub is great. Only negative is it takes a few seconds for the Sub to pair when the Sound Bar is first connected, but quickly resolved. I may hard wire it using the supplied cable to see if its quicker, but its not a deal breaker for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by robtodd from Versatile, Dolby Vision and HDR included I really did not want to buy a soundbar with an additional sub. I bought a Yamaha MusicCast 40 which had good write ups and most importantly is discrete. This was a mistake. The sound was insubstantial and was poor with music. I was advised as much by Sam in Richer Newcastle but chose to ignore him. Off I went back to the store to exchange units and eat humble pie. The YSP-2700 is a revelation. I had the YSP-800 which I loved. The replacement exceeds that unit in every way hooking up to three devices through it with everything up to Dolby True HD/ DTS Master Audio being relayed. Dolby Atmos is stepped down. The very pleasing thing on the visual side is that the unit passes Dolby Vision/HDR/HLG through following firmware updates. This is not advertised and I’m not sure sales staff will all be aware. This makes the unit a bargain at £499.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great soundbar after some time searching! Have finally found the soundbar i was looking for: Simple to set up, superb sound with powerful bass (but highly adjustable). Having tried a couple of other soundbars at similar or higher cost only to be disappointed, this offers by far the best sound and convenience at a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tootingfire from Outstanding sound Looked long and hard at reviews for this product and didn’t know if I could justify the cost. Glad I waited til the Boxing Day sales, saved £150 and am so pleased with the soundbar. You don’t appreciate all the sounds In a film or programme until you listen through a device like this. Truest oustanding and even got the vote of my partner who was cautious at spending this much money on a speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bewlaybrother from A SOUND Soundbar Brilliant piece of kit. Firtsly, excellent service from Richer Sounds, soundbar arrived in allotted time in excellent condition. Easy set up, and sound that fills the room, although sound surround not as good as a 5 or 7 speaker system, it still sounds very good. The wireless sub connected immediately and sounds great. Would definitely recommend this soundbar.
