Superb value noise cancelling headphones with a surprisingly impressive sound too, the Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones are hard to beat.

Noise canceling

The Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones provide excellent noise cancellation performance in two respects. Firstly, the large, wrap-around ear cups cover your ears and physically shield them, with the closed-back design helping to prevent sound leakage. Secondly, the latest Active Noise Reduction system counters background noise from planes, trains and other sources.

Class-leading sound quality
Although primarily noise cancelling headphones, the NS1000 Expedition's sound impressive in their own right. The large drive units offer a broad frequency response for a dynamic, powerful sound quality. The high quality, tangle-free cable also plays its part in providing a highly detailed and transparent sound. Over all, they offer a very balanced sound that doesn't drone out the vocals with an aggressive bass response.

Microphone for calls
The addition of an in-line microphone and pause control enables you to take calls on your smartphone whilst wearing the headphones. The Active Noise Reduction again comes into its own here, as it makes it much easier to hear the caller - even in busy environments.

Practical travelers
Using just a single AAA battery, the NS1000 Expedition will provide up to 40 hours of performance. Supplied with an aircraft adaptor socket, they're also ideal for long haul flights. A carry case also keeps the headphones protected from the bumps and jostles of travel when not in use.

Comfortable, practical and not least, decent sounding, the Goldring NS1000 headphones are the ideal travel companion.

Rated 5 out of 5†by Great Headphones, Superb Service in Bath I bought a pair of these along with a Norstone Hi-Fi Rack. Both are excellent! I love the sound the headphones generate and the noise-cancelling works superbly. The rack looks great with my kit in and and the icing on the cake? the deal I got and the service that came with it. Simply excellent! Billy the store Manager dealt with me and he was helpful, patient and polite. He also was doing a job he clearly enjoyed doing. Thanks Billy - 10/10 for your help and advice. 24 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5†by great buy I bought these headphones with a view to blocking out tv sound.... and they do! Looking forward to using them on my next flight. 23 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5†by Brilliant for price Why pay more when these fulfil every expectation at such a great price. 11 January 2016
Rated 4 out of 5†by Service and 'phones good A wet Saturday afternoon, I was pointed at a pair of noise cancelling headphones at a far lower price than I expected to pay. They work well. Not quite as good audio as my studio Beyer Dynamics, but at a fraction of the price the quality is well beyond what I expected. The are now firmly in my travel kit, the sensibly padded pack makes it easy to stuff in the bag with the rest of the stuff I carry around. 07 January 2016
Rated 4 out of 5†by Great in the office I am working more frequently in open office environments rather than my own office either I am getting less tolerant, or colleagues are nosier. these are great when I want to switch off an focus on my work. Although I feel a bit conspicuous because they are large-ish, people can see that I have headphones on, rather than simply ignoring them. Very odd listening to TV via my laprop - normally very missable background music is quite loud. 06 January 2016
Rated 4 out of 5†by Great value for the money Wanted Bose QC25 but couldn't justify the cost. For less than a quarter of the price of the Bose the Goldring's offer almost as good noise cancelling and that is just brilliant. 27 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5†by A great value product Richer Sounds had the lowest price on the internet that I could find, making these headphones an even better bargain. They've been around for some time but that's because they are great value for those who are not prepared to pay in excess of £100 for such an item. I would certainly recommend them without hesitation. 09 December 2015
Rated 4 out of 5†by very effective noise blocking and comfortable to wear Good product overall but the sound they produce does not have much "brightness". This may be because so far I have only used them on my ipod. I bought them for an upcoming flight to India and was bit alarmed at how much room they are going to take up. 08 December 2015
