Superb value noise cancelling headphones with a surprisingly impressive sound too, the Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones are hard to beat.

Noise canceling

The Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones provide excellent noise cancellation performance in two respects. Firstly, the large, wrap-around ear cups cover your ears and physically shield them, with the closed-back design helping to prevent sound leakage. Secondly, the latest Active Noise Reduction system counters background noise from planes, trains and other sources.

Class-leading sound quality
Although primarily noise cancelling headphones, the NS1000 Expedition's sound impressive in their own right. The large drive units offer a broad frequency response for a dynamic, powerful sound quality. The high quality, tangle-free cable also plays its part in providing a highly detailed and transparent sound. Over all, they offer a very balanced sound that doesn't drone out the vocals with an aggressive bass response.

Microphone for calls
The addition of an in-line microphone and pause control enables you to take calls on your smartphone whilst wearing the headphones. The Active Noise Reduction again comes into its own here, as it makes it much easier to hear the caller - even in busy environments.

Practical travelers
Using just a single AAA battery, the NS1000 Expedition will provide up to 40 hours of performance. Supplied with an aircraft adaptor socket, they're also ideal for long haul flights. A carry case also keeps the headphones protected from the bumps and jostles of travel when not in use.

Comfortable, practical and not least, decent sounding, the Goldring NS1000 headphones are the ideal travel companion.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Exactly What I needed They by no means remove all sound, but I wouldn't want that anyway, I just needed them to reduce the surrounding noise so that I don't have to break my eardrums to hear my music. They are perfect for that. They have helped me drown out all distractions while trying to write essays. 20 April 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Great value These headphones were surprisingly good given the price. Tried them on the recommendation from the staff and was surprised at the sound quality. I already owned a pair of Bose noise canceling headphones and the sound quality is much the same. The Bose headphones cost around ú200 many years ago and are not as comfortable to wear. 12 April 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Very effective noise-reducing headphones, at a highly competitive price. These headphones really do exactly what it says on the box - upon my first using them, I was very happy to discover that the background noise on an aeroplane was radically reduced, thus enabling me to read and sleep without disturbance. The price, as usual with Richer Sounds, was highly competitive. It is obviously possible to spend much more on such headphones, but this set shows that a lower price is not by any means a mark of lower quality. 19 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Goldring NS1000 Expedition Great value headphones, clear sound and very good noise cancellation. 14 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Good noise cancelling headphones The price for the headphones was excellent. The headphones don't have the best audio quality but I purchased them for use on airplanes, where the quality is more than adequate. The headphones are reasonably comfortable and the noise cancelling works well. The headphones have a nice, sturdy case in which the headphones fold flat. I would recommend to anyone wanting a decent set of noise cancelling headphones for a very good price. 09 March 2016
Rated 2 out of 5áby Expensive disaster One year on and I think I have given them a decent trial. I relied on these to listen to audio books as I spent considerable time in hospital/layer up this year. The first part to fail was the cable after about 5 months rapidly followed by the sound in the left ear and now in the 11th month the casing has broken! Now I am back to using a cheaper set I had sought to replace! 07 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Outstanding Quality for the Price Following extensive reading of a number of reviews for over the ear headphones ranging from Bose Comfort15, AKG and Sennheiser, the Goldring NS1000 held its own against the competition and a trip to RicherSounds for a demo did not disappoint!!! They've more than lived upto their expectation with quality sound (even better with noise-cancelling switched on), good comfort fitting nicely onto the ears and good build quality all for the outstanding value of ú59. 18 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Headphones, Superb Service in Bath I bought a pair of these along with a Norstone Hi-Fi Rack. Both are excellent! I love the sound the headphones generate and the noise-cancelling works superbly. The rack looks great with my kit in and and the icing on the cake? the deal I got and the service that came with it. Simply excellent! Billy the store Manager dealt with me and he was helpful, patient and polite. He also was doing a job he clearly enjoyed doing. Thanks Billy - 10/10 for your help and advice. 24 January 2016
