Superb value noise cancelling headphones with a surprisingly impressive sound too, the Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones are hard to beat.

The Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones provide excellent noise cancellation performance in two respects. In the first, the large, wrap-around ear cups cover your ears and physically shield them from outside noise. The closed back design also helps prevent sound leakage. In addition to this, the latest Active Noise Reduction system counters background noise from noisy planes, trains and other transport systems.

Although primarily noise cancelling headphones, the NS1000 Expedition's sound impressive in their own right. The large drive units offer a broad frequency response for a dynamic, powerful sound quality. The high quality, tangle free cable also plays its part in providing a highly detailed and transparent sound. Over all, they offer a very balanced sound that doesn't drone out the vocals with an aggressive bass response.

The addition of an in-line microphone and pause control enables you to take calls on your smartphone whilst wearing the headphones. The Active Noise Reduction again comes into its own here, as it makes it much easier to hear the caller - even in busy environments.

Using just a single AAA battery, the NS1000 Expedition is able to provide up to 40 hours of performance. Supplied with an aircraft adaptor socket these headphones are also ideal for long haul flights. A carry case also keeps the headphones protected from the bumps and jostles of travel when not in use.

Comfortable, practical and not least, decent sounding, the Goldring NS1000 headphones are the ideal travel companion.

Rated 4.3 out of 5áby 37 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5áby Good sound. Extremely poor durability I do not commute with these headphones. They were solely used at home. I've had these for just over a year, and used them maybe two dozen times (tops!) for listening to music and playing games at my desk while my wife is watching the TV across the room. The sound is great, and so is the noise cancelling aspect. I can happily listen to music while my wife is watching films through a 2.1 system across the room. Sound is great - good clarity and balanced bass for all musical styles (and games too). The negative however, is the durability of the headphones and cable. The jack has failed and sound now only comes through one speaker. If I can stand spending 15 minutes fiddling with the jack to get it in the perfect position (and keep it there), then I can get both speakers working - however, this is far from ideal and hugely disappointing considering how little they have actually been used. 16 May 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Amazing value for money! I bought these at Richer Sounds, on the recommendation of a friend and have been very impressed. I used them during my holiday and on both outward and return flights and even though I was sitting in the noisiest part of the plane, was able to watch films on my tablet with minimal background noise. I know I could have bought better, but only by paying more than four times as much. As I'm not a frequent flyer, economic sense prevailed. 08 May 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Excellent value These are the only noise cancelling earphones I've ever tried so a direct comparison is impossible for me. I purchased them after careful research indicated they were excellent value. I've used them in the airport where they performed superbly as the environment was bustling. I also tried them on 2 propeller driven aircraft, one of which was very small and very loud! The best description of their performance at full propeller and engine tilt is that they reduce the noise by half. Pretty impressive I felt. Given their performance in the airport I suspect they will be spot on on a standard jet plane. 14 hours of flights to Mauritius next and I can't wait to use them for sleep! 07 May 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby surprisingly very good although these headphones are not the best looking they do produce a very good sound , when you couple this with a price at a fraction of a top brand they are very good value .they also come with an excellent travel case 02 May 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby Good headphones for the price These are my first pair of noise cancelling headphones and I am overall impressed with them. The sound quality is pretty good (although there is a bit of leakage which might be annoying my fellow commuters). The noise cancelling works pretty well and at ú70 I am pretty sure you cannot buy any better! 30 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great value for travelling I bought these to use on long haul flights. I didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds but I wanted a really good quality, portable set of 'phones and for the price these are excellent. I think to get better would cost four or five times as much for a just a small improvement in sound quality. I think that these offer great value for money. 24 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby excellent Extremely good value for money ,would match any high end earphones 22 April 2015
