Superb value noise cancelling headphones with a surprisingly impressive sound too, the Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones are hard to beat.

The Goldring NS1000 Expedition headphones provide excellent noise cancellation performance in two respects. In the first, the large, wrap-around ear cups cover your ears and physically shield them from outside noise. The closed back design also helps prevent sound leakage. In addition to this, the latest Active Noise Reduction system counters background noise from noisy planes, trains and other transport systems.

Although primarily noise cancelling headphones, the NS1000 Expedition's sound impressive in their own right. The large drive units offer a broad frequency response for a dynamic, powerful sound quality. The high quality, tangle free cable also plays its part in providing a highly detailed and transparent sound. Over all, they offer a very balanced sound that doesn't drone out the vocals with an aggressive bass response.

The addition of an in-line microphone and pause control enables you to take calls on your smartphone whilst wearing the headphones. The Active Noise Reduction again comes into its own here, as it makes it much easier to hear the caller - even in busy environments.

Using just a single AAA battery, the NS1000 Expedition is able to provide up to 40 hours of performance. Supplied with an aircraft adaptor socket these headphones are also ideal for long haul flights. A carry case also keeps the headphones protected from the bumps and jostles of travel when not in use.

Comfortable, practical and not least, decent sounding, the Goldring NS1000 headphones are the ideal travel companion.

Rated 4.3 out of 5áby 50 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5áby The product is very comfortable with excellent sound Sounds excellent although will have to wait until mon 4 August before they get the real test of an aircraft noise 28 July 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby No good at reheating last nights chicken won't hear the microwave go 'ping'! These cans are as good as everyone says they are! The price is almost too good to be true and the audio is great. I've got a pair of Momentum's and although they are not quite there on sound quality or styling they make up for it on comfort and value. The noise cancelling capability is not a 'bolt on", it's the reason you'd by this I guess, so is it any good? Yes it is. It hasn't Bose written on it and it probably ain't as refined, but your sales receipt won't have ú269.95 written on it! 28 July 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby These cans are a bargain! I got these to replace some Sennheisers which have given up the ghost after many years. They are comfortable, offer a nice clean sound and come with a hard case and multiple plugs. They may not be as good as Bose and equivalents, but at they do the job and at the price are a bargain 28 July 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby Good with one 'but' Audio quality is a good as any other headphone that I have tried for less than ú200. Comfortable and light, and as portable as any over ear headphones can be! The included case and adapters are a bonus keeping everything under control when on a trip. They are not flash to look at but conservatively stylish. The 'but' have to have the noise cancelling switched on for the headphones to sound their best. With it off or the battery flat they sound woolly and vague. It's no great hardship leaving the noise cancelling on except for having to remember to turn it off after use and remembering to carry some spare AAAs; and I'm not going to have much faith that the switch is going to last years as it feels fairly low quality. And this does mean you will have put up with the noise cancelling background hiss between tracks but fortunately this hiss is not noticeable during play. Overall - Good value and Good Sound for the Money.........but with a 'but'. 25 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Excellent noise cancelling at a great price. Could have paid double for what these do. Already has great reviews, well deserved. 15 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Fab product! Gift for hubby as I broke last pair & he was gutted!! 10 July 2015
Rated 1 out of 5áby What a let down I owned NS1000s - the original ones. I finally laid them to rest after about 3 years when the audio cable had enough and broke. Great sound and great value until then. Happiness filled my heart when I saw Richer Sounds stocked the second generation "Expedition" version. And the price was great. I picked up a pair that day. First disappointment - the "silver" design had been replaced by a dull almost black casing. Next the flimsy looking phono cable. A positive - it had a mic built in. I use my cans with my phone so this was a definite plus (or so I thought). But the quality was so low - in fact the cable was broken out of the box. I took the cable back and had it replaced. Second cable was as bad as the first - the mic skipping tracks as there was some loose connection. 6 months later I've used them 3 times because they are unusable. Disappointing. Basically these headphones have a great legacy reputation but to keep the price point competitive they have sadly scrimped on quality. 09 July 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby Great on airplanes These headphones transformed the experience of my recent long haul flight. The noise cancelling seems to work pretty well for the low-frequency sounds you get in a plane, but less well for other noises, eg on the tube in London. To be honest, I think the over-ear cups do more than the magical noise reduction gubbins. But they sound great, they are comfortable (no hot-ear), and cost a lot less than the Bose ones, so I'm happy! 27 June 2015
