This page is intended to demonstrate the incredible value of our 5 Year Supercare. Under recent legislation, we are obliged to point out that you obviously do not need to purchase an extended warranty at the same time you purchase your electrical goods and are entitled to shop around. We have been encouraging our customers to do just that for years because, not only are our prices significantly cheaper than our competitors, but just look at what else we include:

Free loan machine (only if taken back to store)
Should you encounter a problem, just ask and you'll be provided with a unit to ensure you're not without music whilst your equipment is being fixed.

Like for like machine if unit is unrepairable
If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.

Free routine service / Maintenance checks
have your unit serviced as often as you wish, free of charge, during the 5 year period. (Normally excluded from extended guarantees).

45 day cooling off period

If you use the policy in the 5 years, you'll have saved yourself tens and perhaps hundreds of pounds. If you don't use it...IT WON'T COST YOU A THING!*

* Simply return your unused Supercare policy within one month of the expiration date, and we'll refund the price of your warranty.

"A fantastic budget stereo amp. Delivers superb sound quality for your analogue and digital music." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine. Group test winner and 5-Star review, tested at £300.

SERIOUS SOUND QUALITY

Just like its predecessor, the PM6004, the Marantz PM6005 puts sound quality first. Usually the preserve of much more expensive amplifiers, the PM6005 benefits from separate pre and power amp sections, constructed from discrete components rather than the more usual ICs (Integrated Circuits). This gives the PM6005 an uncommon clarity and level of detail. As before, the PM6005 benefits from an impressive Toroidal power supply. Along with the large capacitors, this helps keep a tight control on speakers and gives music a generous sense of scale; far larger in fact, than you might expect from an amplifier rated at 45 watts.

NOW WITH DIGITAL INPUTS

New to the PM6005 is a built-in DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). By fitting a high quality Cirrus Logic 24 bit/192 kHz DAC to the amp, a whole new level of flexibility is opened up. With a choice of coaxial and optical inputs you can connect up many digital sources such as CD, DVD, Blu-ray players, TVs and even games consoles. By using the digital connection you're likely to gain a much better sound quality, due to the Marantz's superior processing power. As you'd expect from Marantz, the digital part of the amplifier is fully shielded by an extra metal housing, ensuring no electrical interference with the other parts of the amplifier.

FULLY FEATURED

In terms of analogue inputs, the PM6005 is comprehensively equipped. An MM (Moving Magnet) phono stage is built-in for use with a turntable. There are also four line level inputs and a recording outlet. Two sets of speaker outputs are included as is a headphone socket for personal listening. Bass and treble controls are standard and can be bypassed by the Source Direct control for slightly improved sound quality.

With inputs for analogue and digital, the Marantz PM6005 is a centre of excellence for your entire system.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by A bit disappointed! I bought this amp along with matching cd player in Feb 2015 to replace my previous amp and cd (fisher) which I'd had for thirty years! Read lots about them in various specialist publications, whom all seemed to say these are the ones to go for (at this price range). I have them connected to wharfdale E30 speakers (again had for almost thirty years! ) but just can't seem to get that "warm" sound I got with my old set up! I'm thinking maybe I need to try with a pair of new speakers (quite fancy trying tannoy dc6t's) I can't understand why you don't have full control over all aspects of the amp from the remote control (I have a cheap Panasonic mini system in the bedroom that does this!) Also why oh why are the led's so bright? When using in low light situations it's like having a set of blue headlights shining at you! I was really looking good forward to buying these items but so far feel a little disappointed. Hopefully can sort this with some different speakers...... 18 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent price. Great sound I bought this amp to sit under my TV. Bi-wired to Mordaunt Short Avant 901i on stands. TV connected by optical in - built in DAC is very good, particularly when listening to music via Google Chromecast/Google Play Music. Remote control a bit plasticy, but works fine. Reassuringly heavy amp with a nice smooth sound & ample power. So far, very impressed!! 01 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Maranta PM6005 Superb amp. Exceptional value for money. Fantastic sound. 25 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good crisp sound and the bonus of a dedicated phono stage for a turntable. I needed to replace my old early 80s amp that had developed an intermittent fault. I have a sizeable collection of vinyl so I wanted a reasonably priced amp to plug my turntable into and the Marantz fitted the bill perfectly. In the listening room at Richer Sounds I compared it with the Arcam that was closest in price, though still more expensive as i had seen many good reviews for Arcam, and the Richer Sounds staff member who served me was a fan of the Arcam sound, however, to my ears the Arcam sounded too tame and smooth, leaving the Marantz a clear winner with its extra sparkle. 24 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by An excellent amp I have paired with the matching Marantz CD player-CD6005 and the B&W 685 S2, the amp delivers lots of details, the treble is crisp, the midrange is clear and rich, the bass is punchy. Highly recommend! 22 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent sound, terrific value Bought to match the cd5005 player, looks great as a stack and using the same remote across both systems make everything so much easier. Full bodied sound with plenty of range, works great with both the cd player and the turntable. Optical output for the tv is great too. 17 March 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect Sound, Irritating Labels. Very full rich sound, generous inputs, sleek design. Would have given it 5 stars but I just don't like the input labels. I use the amp for my small studio so labels like 'TUNER' and 'NETWORK' are redundant and annoying. As these inputs are identical I would rather AUX1, 2, 3 and so on. I'm also not sure about a dial for selecting inputs. As I move from one to the other quite a bit, a button selection would have been easier. Trivial criticisms, I know, but tarnishes what is a classy amp. 11 March 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Far too bright I've had this amp for a couple of months, paired with Q-acoustic 2050i. I swapped a Cambridge Audio amp against my better judgement for this one on the basis that this amp had gotten rave reviews on What Hi-Fi. As others have said the amp is far too bright giving the sound a harshness with high treble but lacking in depth and richness. I miss my Cambridge Audio amp! 01 March 2015
