"A fantastic first step into the realm of 5.1 sound, the RX-V373 is a great budget buy." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine 5-star review at £249.95.

ENHANCED CONNECTIVITY

New to this year's Yamaha RXV373 AV receiver is a front-mounted USB interface. It might not look much, but this little socket will transform the sound quality from your iPod or iPhone. By connecting to the USB, you'll benefit from a digital connection. This gives a direct signal and, hence, purer sound quality than using a conventional dock or analogue input. Another great feature is that it will also charge your iPod or iPhone - even when the receiver is switched off, in standby!

Coming complete with four, 3D compatible HDMI sockets, the Yamaha RXV373 is the ideal budget AV receiver for a 3D TV future. With four HDMI inputs and a monitor output you're all set for linking up either 3D or conventional sources and connecting them through to a 3D or conventional TV. Furthermore, there's also support for an Audio Return Channel, letting you feed back the sound from your TV through the home cinema speakers with just one HDMI cable. Twin component, optical and coaxial inputs also give the RXV373 a wider range of conventional sockets than most of its rivals.

COMPREHENSIVE HD PROCESSING

With HD Audio format decoding for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, the Yamaha RX-V373 has the digital processing power to take the fight to its rivals head on. Furthermore, this powerful processing is backed up by an impressive amplifier for a budget model. Once processed by the 192/24-bit Burr Brown DACs on each channel, the sound goes through a high power, low impedance amplifier with an impressive 85 watts per channel.

EASY TO USE

In addition to sounding great, the Yamaha is also easy to use. The SCENE function automatically selects the ideal DSP (Digital Signal Processor) setting to suit the input. Four SCENE selections ensure that you always have the correct setting when watching films or listening to music. As this is a Yamaha, the wide selection of DSP modes (17) give a range of effects not available with other AV receivers. In addition to this, YPAO automatically sets the speakers to match the room's acoustics, making the RXV373 just as easy to set up as ever.

OTHER GREAT FEATURES

Other great features with this Yamaha AV receiver include Compressed Music Enhancer and A/V lip sync function. Compressed Music Enhancer improves the sound from MP3 sources such as computer audio or iPods/iPhones, giving them enhanced detail at the top end and lower bass. A/V lip sync function ensures you get a perfect match between the image of dialogue on your TV and the actual sound from your speakers. Finally, the RXV373 comes with an ECO mode and low standby power consumption, ensuring it's amongst the most energy efficient in its class.

As a first step into AV separates, the Yamaha RXV373 makes it both easy and exciting.
