Rated 5 out of 5áby greyowl Great speaker but not to my personal taste
Richer sounds ( brilliant as always ) had an open box set of BX2's so I bought them and tried them for a few days.
They have amazing clarity and good bass extension but, for some reason, I did not take to them. I felt they lacked 'warmth' in the mid range
Its very much a matter of personal preference and, even for budget speakers, its well worth auditioning them if you can.
In the end I got a set of Wharfedale 220's. Even to my ears I think that they are not as clear as the BX2's but, on the other hand, they are. for me, far more easy to listen to. Its probably something to do with my history of what I expect speakers to sound like rather than any objective criterion.
I think the BX2's should be on most peoples list of exceptional budget speakers to listen to - which is why I haven't marked them down in spite of deciding against them in the end. I have a slight reservation that I should have persevered longer with them to see if I could re-educate my senses.

Rated 5 out of 5áby melha great for the price
I bought these on advice from the salesman in Edinburgh and his advice was good. These speakers have a great sound for a small speaker with a small pricetag. Had them for 4 months now and they are all I need for a small livingroom in a flat - I wasn't looking for masssive power, I just wanted a great sound and I got that. Bass is lovely. Plus they look great !

Fab speakers , nice sound , need to be positioned not to close to a wall or the bass is overpowering . Once placed right then you get a very good sound stage .

Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent Sound!
I was origionally looking to upgrade my existing Wharfedales to a newer model, but on listening to them, they lacked something? I listened to a few others until the guy at Richer Sounds then brought the Monitor Audio BX2 Blk into the room for me to listen to and wow what a difference. The sound quality Is unbelievable! Good deep solid bass and nice crisp treble.
I couldn't wait to get them home and set them up with my Teac amp & Marantz CD player and I was not disappointed.
They improve in sound each time I play them. These speakers are quality and sound and look more expensive than they are! 100% pleased with them.

Rated 5 out of 5áby AlexR1 Simply superb sound
I bought the Monitor Audio BX2s to pair with a Cambridge Audio Azur 350A amplifier and to replace my ancient (but still sounding good) Mission 761s from the Eighties!
I was originally looking at Cambridge Audio, Q Acoustics and Wharfedale speakers all around the ú150-ú200 mark but Guido in The Maidstone branch (who was superbly knowledgeable and helpful) noted my music and sound preferences and suggested the Monitor Audios; what a brilliant recommendation!
The speakers will probably get even better once run-in but I think they already sound superbly detailed with a tight, punchy and extended bass and seem to suit my Cambridge amp well.
Thanks once again to Guido at Maidtone for such excellent service.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Jetley Excellent for the money !
Just picked up these for my budget 2nd system , didnt expect too much from these little bookshelf speakers , but all i can say is WOW ! I own the bigger floorstanding BX5's so i thought i would try these and im glad i did , one thing i was worried about was placement and lack of bass response , again these excelled in my expectations , good clean crisp treble , and the detail from my modest low end setup is just amazing , cant comment on the volume levels as im running them in still , but they sound good at modest volume levels . So to sum up a happy customer so far , would definitely recommend .

Rated 5 out of 5áby clamjouster100 A worthwhile upgrade
Bought these to replace some Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's I'd been using in my kitchen set up which to my ear just weren't cutting the mustard. Really glad I did as the sound quality jump has been significant. It's not really a fair comparison but the level of detail these put out is on another level the the highly regarded Wharfedales.
In other rooms I have significantly more expensive speakers than these but in terms of finish and build quality these compare very favorably.
Bottom line is they look and sound better than their price tag suggests.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Swearingdad Good sound. Solid construction.
Brought these to pair with a Marantz McR610. Super solid construction, look good, easy to attach speaker cable (Cambridge Symphony 400). Sounds good especially for the price.
