With its stunning style and picture, the curved LG 55EA980W OLED TV is a truly unique design.

UNIQUE, CURVED OLED SCREEN

Welcome to the future of TV - OLED. OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) TV offers perhaps the most advanced picture quality currently available. Unlike more basic LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting. With no fluorescent or LED backlighting, the colour is consistent right across the screen and the contrast levels greatly enhanced. The technology also allows for curved screens, which is where the LG 55EA980W really excels. By using a curved screen the viewing experience is more natural and everyone in the room gets to see the benefits of a superior viewing angle.

4 COLOUR PIXEL

Helping to give this TV one of the most natural picture qualities in its class, LG's certified 4 Colour Pixel system adds a white sub-pixel to the conventional red, green and blue. This helps gives the 55EA980W exceptional colour realism.

CINEMA TV WITH 2D TO 3D CONVERSION

Cinema 3D TV is the popular passive 3D system from LG. It's simpler than the active system but, despite this, in many ways it's superior. For a start, passive 3D TV is considered more comfortable to watch with less flicker. Other technical advantages include a wider viewing angle and brighter images. Then there's the cost and convenience consideration to take into account. The glasses are much cheaper and also considerably lighter to wear. The lack of batteries onboard also means they don't have to be recharged. What's more, with 2D to 3D conversion, you can get the 3D experience with any program you care to watch - whether filmed in 3D or not!

CLEAR SPEAKER SYSTEM

It's not just the curved design that makes this TV such a stunning piece of design; it's the clear speaker system, too. The super thin and transparent speakers are virtually invisible from a distance, adding greatly to the sleek good looks. With a 2.1 sound system, the 55EA980W also uses a separate subwoofer to provide a fuller and richer sound. Added to this, Virtual Surround Plus creates a spacious sound to help make the audio sound less 'boxy'.

SMARTSHARE FOR THE SLICKEST MEDIA INTEGRATION

In terms of smart functionality, the 55EA980W is pretty comprehensive. As you'd expect, there's a premium range of LG applications, including many popular video on demand apps, such as YouTube. There's also a web browser plus DLNA certification to allow you to stream across your network from other devices, such as your PC or laptop. Yet, the 55EA980W goes further than this; much further. 2nd display let's you push content from your TV to a second compatible device, such as smartphone or tablet, meaning you'll never miss out on the action! Miracast lets you watch what's on your mobile or tablet, on the big screen - wirelessly. (Miracast requires a Wi-Fi network and Miracast certified smartphone. Smartphone firmware update may be required). Alternatively, for the highest quality video, MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) allows you to link up compatible smartphones or tablets and stream video via HDMI.

THE SMARTEST CONTROL WITH MAGIC REMOTE

With a new design of Magic Remote, the 55EA980W is one of the most intuitive to control. Within the one remote control you can point, gesture, wheel and voice control. The scroll wheel is ideal for surfing the web while gesture control lets you change channel simply by 'drawing' the channel number with the remote. Should you prefer, voice activation is also available, giving handsfree control.

STUNNING, GOOD LOOKS

The LG 55EA980W doesn't just look stunning, it's a totally unique design. The curved screen gives it an unmistakable style that's enhanced by the moulded stand. The clear, 'crystal' stand gives the impression of the screen above it almost 'floating'. Close attention to detail, such as the transparent speakers, marks this TV out as a very special piece of design in its own right.

More than just a taste of the future, the LG 55EA980W is a design classic.
