With its stunning Picture-on-Glass design combined with picture transparency that's closer than ever to reality, the LG OLED55E6V offers tomorrow's tech, today.

Picture-on-Glass design

LG's truly stunning Picture-on-Glass design consists of an ultra-thin panel with a translucent glass back. Viewed from the side this is the thinnest TV we've yet to see and a striking design statement in any interior.

Ultra HD Premium - meeting the highest standards in UHD 4K
Taking UHD 4K to its maximum ability, Ultra HD Premium introduces additional compatibilities and the assurance of the highest performance possible. Highlights include full compatibility with HDR (High Dynamic Range), making the LG OLED55E6V TV compatible with the exciting new 4K Blu-ray format. Coupled with the stunning resolution of UHD 4K - four times that of FHD 1080p - the results are sensational.

The finest screen technology - OLED
Welcome to the finest TV screen technology - OLED. Organic Light-Emitting Diode - OLED - TV offers perhaps the most advanced picture quality currently available. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give quite simply the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Dolby vision-equipped TVs, like this LG, can decode both generic HDR content and content that's specifically been encoded in Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.

ColourPrime Pro technology
Helping to give this TV one of the most natural picture qualities in its class, LG's ColourPrime Pro technology displays the finest details of colour and gradation, giving a natural image that's as about as close to 'real life' as a TV can get.

Cinema 3D TV with 2D to 3D conversion
Cinema 3D TV is the popular passive 3D system from LG. Passive 3D TV is considered more comfortable to watch with less flicker. Other advantages include a wider viewing angle and brighter images. The glasses are great value (two are included with the TV) and also considerably lighter to wear. The lack of batteries onboard also means they don't have to be recharged. What's more, with 2D to 3D conversion, you can get the 3D experience with any program - whether filmed in 3D or not.

Powerful sound thanks to built-in subwoofer and Harmon Kardon tech
Developed in conjunction with AV and Hi-Fi experts Harman Kardon, this 55 inch TV's audio system offers a step-up from the average 'thin' flatscreen TV sound. With its powerful 40 watt amp and built-in subwoofer, this TV has richer and more powerful sound than less well equipped TVs. OLED Surround is also standard and gives a more spacious and immersive sound.

The best smart interface is better than ever with webOS 3.0
Widely acclaimed as one of the best smart TV interfaces, LG's webOS 3.0 operating system is now better than ever. WebOS 3.0 uses superimposed icons, folders and side bars for clear and easy access to smart content without leaving the current screen image. New to webOS 3.0 is the ability for split screen viewing, letting you watch live TV and Blu-ray, for example, at the same time. Other new features include LG smart appliance control and access to the LG Music Player app playing through the TV's speaker system - even when it's turned off.

Freeview Play for catch-up TV
Freeview Play makes catch-up TV easy. Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 sitting alongside over 60TV Channels and up to 15 HD channels. Simply scroll back in your TV guide to watch shows you missed from the last 7 days. Just make sure your TV is connected to the internet and you're good to go.

New "Magic" tech
Linking in with the new webOS 3.0 system is a range of "Magic" features. These include Magic Zoom for screen magnification without loss of image quality. The Magic Mobile Connection lets you stream apps from your smartphone, straight to the TV, for seamless big screen entertainment. An updated Magic Remote will now also operate the power on your set-top box, giving effortless one-remote control of your TV.

The ultimate in design and picture - TV simply doesn't get much better than this.

LG OLED55E6V is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing visuals, great features, if a bit pricey Having recently purchased a console capable of native 4K gaming, and soon looking to have a set top box capable of 4k, I finally took the plunge after much research to get this television. It took a lot to justify the price point for the TV - but as the old adage says, you get what you pay for. Stunning image and build quality, and just a great all round performer, the deep blacks are immense when watching something like star trek in 4k, or even any moody "dark" show / film. So far so good, and whilst a lot of an outlay for a TV, I don't regret it so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picture quality 2nd to none This LG screen sets the standard others will try to catch up to once the set up is finished and the screen colours are re set from the very rich factory settings the picture quality is brilliant. 4K images are stunning and the staff at the Romford branch were very helpful thanks lads

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb picture This tv is nothing short of amazing, the picture is the best I have seen on any set and the 3D is incredible! If you can afford it then this is definitely the one to go for but as others have said before it really needs to be fed a good source as it will show up every imperfection of sd content. Richersounds were brilliant, price beating the competition and giving the usual high standard of service you come to expect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This tv is the best tv ever. Cannot be beaten This tv was bought from the hull branch of richer sounds. I have to say all the staff are polite and helpfull. The store manager Paul certainly knows his tech. I will definately use richer sounds in future

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning picture on this UHD Premium TV Thanks to the sterling services of Garry and James of Richer Sounds Edinburgh, this superb UHD 4K smart TV was installed and calibrated to deliver an amazingly rich picture whether HD or UHD via our Sky Q box or new Oppo UDP 203 4K blu-ray player (also set up by Garry and James). For best performance, we have linked both Sky Q box and Oppo directly to the TV via high quality high speed HDMI cables (not passed through the AV receiver). Very satisfied with this purchase and Richer Sounds customer service is top notch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing picture This to replaced a 2 year old Panasonic and what a difference new technology can make. Great choice despite low "which" score. I have found that their reviews often differ from more specialised magazines and internet articles and reviews which I have found compliment the opinions expressed by which. Picture quality is outstanding and nothing in the showrooms I visited came close in comparison. Built in sound bar is very good and this model was chosen more for appearance which doesn't disappoint. It is not as good sound quality as the bar and sub woofer it replaced. Instructions are all electronic and this and LG web site are not as easy to understand as I had expected, but after 1 week navigation is easier. The magic remote also operates my Humax Freesat box which is a bonus Cannot work out how to stitch off rather than standby even using the switch at the back
Date published: 2017-03-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Great picture. 260 characters is not enough space to state just how good this screen is. I believe it is the best available today. Straight out of the box the picture is way too bright so the screen will need extensive adjustment of brightness sharpness etc to get the most out of it ,so I would recommend getting RS to do it for you. Cinema mode or Darkened Room mode is a good place to start in the mean time.Sport mode is headache inducing and best avoided. 3D looks stunning with the two pairs of glasses supplied Also you will need to buy an optical cable if you use a 5.1 surround sound system. The attached sound bar is above average but no match for a basic surround system. I was worried about such a large screen TV dominating my living room but it is sooo good.I love it. If you are in the market for an OLED TV get this one now or wait until summer to try the competitions OLED offerings but watch out for the price increases to come. Don't say I didn't warn you!
