This page is intended to demonstrate the incredible value of our 6 Year Supercare. Under recent legislation, we are obliged to point out that you obviously do not need to purchase an extended warranty at the same time you purchase your electrical goods and are entitled to shop around. We have been encouraging our customers to do just that for years because, not only are our prices significantly cheaper than our competitors, but just look at what else we include:

Free loan machine (only if taken back to store)
Should you encounter a problem, just ask and you'll be provided with a unit to ensure you're not without music whilst your equipment is being fixed.

Like for like machine if unit is unrepairable
If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.

Free routine service / Maintenance checks
have your unit serviced as often as you wish, free of charge, during the 6 year period. (Normally excluded from extended guarantees).

45 day cooling off period
If you're not happy with our 6 Year Supercare package just ask for a full refund - no questions asked. After 45 days, providing no claim has been made, you can also terminate the agreement and receive a pro-rata refund.

If you use the policy in the 6 years, you'll have saved yourself tens and perhaps hundreds of pounds. If you don't use it...IT WON'T COST YOU A THING!*

* Simply return your unused Supercare policy within one month of the expiration date, and we'll refund the price of your warranty.
LOWEST PRICES GUARANTEED!We'll beat any genuine advertised price,
even from the web & give you up to £100!

We're confident that our prices are amongst the very keenest out there, so we've made it as easy as pie to qualify for our Price Beat. "We're used to Cambridge Audio being aggressive when it comes to price, but even by its standards the DacMagic XS represents truly excellent value for money" What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.

The way we listen to and the format that our music resides in has changed dramatically over the years. Long gone are the days of CD being the only way of listening to your favourite band's new album. Now you can get that same album in a plethora of formats with downloading being the preferred choice for many, with the computer becoming the sole storage and playback for your entire music collection. While being perfect for storing thousands of albums, playing them back has never been the strong suit of most PC's. Often the quality of the built-in DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertor) and headphone amplifiers leave a lot to be desired, failing to faithfully reproduce your music with the soul and character as intended by the artist. The Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS is the answer.

Don't let the miniature size of the DacMagic XS fool you, despite its compact nature it has been imbued with the same hi-fi characteristics of its bigger siblings. Cambridge Audio have managed to bring together a class leading DAC and powerful headphone amplifier to breathe new life into your digital music. Utilising a low jitter asynchronous USB connection along with support for USB Class 1 & 2 modes, DacMagic XS connects using the highest quality USB connection with the least amount of distortion. Both Mac and PC platforms are supported. Regardless of whether your music consists of MP3 files or high definition 24-bit/192kHz FLAC files, the DacMagic XS has all varieties covered. You can be assured that as your music library evolves over time, the DacMagic XS will have you covered.

Along with the accomplished DAC, the DacMagic XS is paired with a high quality headphone amplifier. Capable of providing up to 10 times more power than the headphone output found on most PC's and laptops. An on board analogue volume control provides fine control over this power. Both combine to reproduce your music as faithfully as possible, providing a dynamic range and audio fidelity that is a league above what is possible on most PC's and laptops.

Crafted using high quality brushed aluminium, the DacMagic XS is both lightweight and strong. Its streamline design combined with its small size and weight ensures that it's just as suited for music on the go as it is for use at home. With power being provided by the USB connection, there's no need for batteries or an external power supply. As an elegant addition, the built-in LED changes colour corresponding to the input sample rate.

A small package with a performance that defies its dimensions, the Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS has all your digital music needs covered, on the road or at home.

Rated 5 out of 5 You won't like how you have been listening to music all this time... Until now. Clean, punchy and perfectly balanced sound. I am annoyed at how long I listened to music without this device! Even with a good source like a MacBook pro (which by all accounts has a good built in DAC), you won't get the power delivery and depth this device can offer you. You will hear things you did not even know where in your favourite tracks. Great DAC's are the often overlooked key to better sound with the way many people listen to music. So why did I buy the DACMAGIC XS: I recently bought a DacMagic Plus, the DACMAGIC XS's bigger brother. I plugged in my earphones to that and was blown away by the quality. I knew then that the bar was set and needed the DACMAGIC XS to bring me that punch and clarity everywhere I went. It is not quite as good, but boy, for the size and ease of use.. Its a clear winner. 12 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Would still be a great purchase at twice the price ! The difference between listening direct to my Asus laptop and listening via the Dacmagic XS has to be heard to be believed. As a retired electronic engineer I can really appreciate the design work that has gone into this tiny, well made, bit of kit. It really is magic. 05 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Just what my headphones needed I'd bought a couple of headphone amplifiers for my B&W P7's but neither of them were up to much so I decided to have a go with this one as it was down to ú69. It took a while to get it working, downloading the drivers for my laptop was a pain but I eventually got there. Massive difference in sound now though, it's given my cans a lot more punch and a lot more detail, I also like the fact I can get some decent volume out of them at last. It works pretty well when hooked up to my amp too, although it now has me tempted to buy a better DAC with a bit more connectivity. The only downside is it only connects via USB, shame I can't connect it straight to my phone or tablet for more portablitly. If you've got a decent set of headphones and listen to a lot of music on your laptop I'd recommend getting one, it makes it a much more enjoyable experience . 29 May 2015
Rated 2 out of 5áby Not much better than 3.5mm plain output...... The salesman was friendly but was a little misinformed (although he said he uses the product himself). He said the Dacmagic was "plug and play" but after plugging/playing (which produced silence) it took headscratching, googling, downloading of zip file from the Cambridge website, unpacking, erm finding the right bit in the folder, well it was all gone a bit too technical for me. But I eventually got it to work just before it got to the stage of chucking it out the window. I however do find that the improvement in quality from just a 3.5mm line out from laptop to amp lead is not entirely a large one. The volume seems to go up though. And if you unplug the device to just use the laptop's own speakers you have to go into Control Panel- sound settings- manage audio devices etc to re-enable the laptop sounds. And then restart the program (say iTunes) again. And do it all over again to restart using the Dacmagic........ Wouldn't send back but couldn't recommend. 25 May 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby get one best thing i did to breath new life into my computer music through headphones ,just a lot better sound with full body music great thanks to r/sounds for all there help great service 07 May 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby This product solved a problem This little adaptor solved the problem we had with getting enough gain from the headphone socket of the laptop which we used as input to a small portable battery speaker/amp for presenting Powerpoint to a small audience. It's anothe thing to carry around, but it's USB powered and very simple and effective. 26 April 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby Great improvement This was a speculative online purchase, which I made in order to eliminate the buzzing interference from my laptop headphone socket, so I have not compared this DAC with any others. Nonetheless, it does resolve the problem and the sound is clear from Deezer Premium from my AKG-451s. The headphone volume control is handy too, and the product worked "plug and play" straight out of the box. At the discounted price of ú70, it was worth the money. With pricier headphones maybe I will notice more of a difference. Would have been handy to have compatibility with Android phones too, but can't grumble for this money. 26 April 2015
