Now in its fifth generation, the Astell&Kern KANN ULTRA takes a multi-award winning design and adds next generation technology for improved sound and versatility. The new, Octa-Core processor helps both with the sound quality and user experience. The latest ESS ES9039MPRO DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) uses less power but produces a more expansive sound and reduced distortion. Finally, triple output modes with dedicated headphone and hi-fi outputs optimises the sound with all partnering equipment.

Featuring a 4-step gain control with a Super Gain output of up to 16Vrms, the KANN ULTRA has the power to drive almost any pair of headphones. This means that you can now enjoy audiophile sound quality on the move, without the need for a separate headphone amp. Low/Mid/High output levels are also available, giving you the ideal match for your choice of headphones.

Wide range of headphone outputs
As well as delivering the power to drive your headphones, the KANN ULTRA also has the connectivity. For balanced headphones, the KANN ULTRA has a top quality, 4.4mm, 5-pole balanced output. Alongside the 2.5mm, 4-pole balanced output, this gives wide-ranging compatibility with both headphones and headphone amps. Using a balanced signal between the source and headphones reduces noise and interference and is especially handy on the move. A standard 3.5mm unbalanced socket is also standard.

File friendly – native 32bit/768kHz and DSD512 file playback
Whatever digital file type you prefer, the SP3000 plays it. With support for native 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512 music files, there’s no compression involved - you simply get to hear every ounce of detail. Combined with the hugely capable DAC, this means sensational dynamic range, low noise and incredible detail from your top quality digital music files. With 128GB of internal memory, the KANN ULTRA holds up to around 1250 tracks (24bit/96kHz, 4 minute-long, 90MB) songs on its flash memory, which is twice that of the previous model. With the addition of a 1TB microSD card, the capacity increases to enough for a lifetime’s collection of music.
