The XR effect
The Cyrus Power-XR completes the new XR-series family and means that you can now optimise the sound and style of the Pre-XR with a matching power amp. As an XR model, it benefits from the latest aesthetics, improved control functionality, cleaner sound and the option of the upgraded PSU-XR.

Punchy power
Designed to be paired with the Cyrus Pre-XR, but also great with many other devices, the Cyrus Power-XR amplifier packs an impressive punch. With 87 watts per channel using 8 ohm speakers and up to 144 watts with 4 ohm speakers, it has effortless reserves of power to easily fill larger rooms with sound. Extremely low levels of distortion and a wide frequency response means that the power is delivered cleanly, producing lifelike detail, even at higher volume levels.

Signature Cyrus sound
Although this is a punchy-sounding amp when needed, Cyrus hasn’t forgotten about its reputation for precision and detail. Hand built in the UK, the Power-XR shows typical Cyrus attention to detail. Within the high quality casing is an oversized toroidal mains transformer and high output capacitors. Combined with the short signal path circuitry, this delivers typical Cyrus sound – dynamic, precise and with every subtle detail finely reproduced.

Studio quality, XLR connections
As well as the more usual RCA phono inputs, the Power-XR also features balanced XLR connections. Use these with a matching Cyrus pre-amp, such as the Pre-XR, and you’ll enjoy a studio quality, ultra-low noise connection. Balanced cables isolate outside noise, letting you enjoy a clearer signal – especially over longer lengths.

PSU-XR port for the next step-up
As good as the Power-XR is, it can be made better still by adding a PSU-XR power supply. Over the past three decades, Cyrus’s famous PSX power supplies have been a ‘must have’ upgrade, and the latest PSU-XR is no different. The PSU-XR provides the Power-XR with a smooth, stable power feed that helps bring out fine detail and musical subtlety, that’s otherwise lost in the mix. The result is even clearer, more spacious sound.

Now with a new Phantom Black finish and LED colour and brightness settings, the Power-XR looks slicker than ever. The die-cast casing is extremely solid and strongly resists both electrical and mechanical interference from surrounding sources. The heart of your Cyrus XR system
Designed to be paired with the Power-XR or Stereo 200 power amplifiers, the Cyrus Pre-XR plays a vital role in getting the very best from your Cyrus system. Because the pre-amplifier section has a dedicated power supply and sits in its own casing, the sound quality is much improved over the integrated Cyrus amps. All the digital and analogue connectivity that makes these amps so popular is still present and correct, making the Pre-XR every bit as system friendly.

XR Series - Ground-up redesign
Nearly every aspect about the Cyrus XR Series is new. From the all-new pre-amplifier design, second generation DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) to the touch sensitive controls and high resolution display. What hasn’t changed is Cyrus’s dedication to the truest sound. The iconic, die-cast chassis also remains – a fan favourite that also enhances the sound quality.

Built-in DAC with USB, coaxial and optical inputs
Featuring a 2nd generation QXR DAC and five digital inputs, the Cyrus Pre-XR is the ideal way of upgrading all your digital sources at the same time as buying a new amplifier. Older or lower spec digital devices benefit greatly in terms of sound quality by using the high spec QXR DAC built into the Cyrus rather than their own. With twin optical and coaxial inputs, you can connect your network streamer, CD player, TV and games console. There’s also an asynchronous USB input. This lets you connect your PC or Mac and access stored or streaming music in high resolution – right up to 768 kHz file sample rate.

Tailor the digital sound to suit you
With seven different digital filter alignment options, you can tailor the sound to just the way you like it. Sharpen or smooth the sound, depending on your preferences and the matching components.

Superior turntable input
As well as four RCA line inputs, the Pre-XR also comes with a high quality MM (Moving Magnet) turntable input. This low-noise design lets you get the best sound from your deck, without needing to add an extra phono pre-amp.

Enhanced headphone output
Just like the turntable input, the headphone output is a top quality device in its own right – rivalling some standalone headphone amps. With your headphones plugged in, a dedicated amplifier draws exclusive power from the over-sized transformer, giving huge reserves of current.
