As well as the superior circuit design, the StudioPhono benefits from an outboard power supply and shielding from a metal casing. By being a separate, standalone product, it doesn’t have to contend with the electrical noise and vibration that phonostages built into regular amps do. This means you get a smoother, more dynamic sound, with detail springing out from a quieter backdrop.
Fully adjustable to suit your MM or MC cartridge
The StudioPhono is suitable for use with a wide range of cartridges, including MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil). Underneath the unit, you’ll find fully adjustable cartridge loading switches. These let you adjust the gain and impedance settings, precisely suiting your cartridge. Find your cartridge’s specs in your manual or online and adjust the switches to suit, giving you perfectly tailored sound.
Handy subsonic and mono buttons
When playing warped records, the subsonic button protects your speakers from distorting ‘cone-flap’ caused by subsonic frequencies. If you’ve a collection of older (mono) recordings, you’ll appreciate the Mono button, which lets you hear the sound the way it was recorded.
