Heavyweight build quality
Weighing in at a hefty 18kg, the Xtension 9 Super Pack is built to perform. The solidly constructed MDF chassis is also further isolated by magnetic feet between the main plinth and base. The combination of mass loading and floating design principles, gives the Xtension 9 Super Pack a rock solid bass and distortion-free detail.
Unique platter design
For the best surface to surface synergy with your records, the Pro-Ject Xtension 9 Super Pack uses a special sandwich construction for its platter. In addition to the more usual metal alloy, it's topped with a composite material made from recycled vinyl records! With a vinyl to vinyl connection there's no need for any other form of mat which, in itself can colour the sound. The platter is also damped on the inner side with TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomers) and perfectly balanced for the smoothest, most consistent sound quality.
Electronic speed control for ease of use
Unlike many other audiophile turntables, the Pro-Ject Xtension 9 Super Pack benefits from electronic speed control for push button speed change. Switch between 33 and 45 from the turntable's plinth for instant control. A further advantage this quality power supply brings is rock steady pitch and speed stability.
9CC Evolution carbon-fibre tonearm for superior tracking
As well as the innovative platter, the superb quality tonearm is another highlight. An oversized outer ring is open to avoid resonance yet also very rigid to provide the most stable platform for the arm to work from. The damped counter weights effectively counteract unwanted resonance. Finally, the carbon-fibre tonearm tube provides significant benefits to the sound quality. Being stiffer than steel, the tonearm is more rigid than usual. As a result, the music sounds tighter, punchier and more detailed than before.

Normally retailing for around £599, the Pro-Ject Pick-IT DS2 is a top quality cartridge in its own right. The Moving Coil design provides stunning levels of detail that lesser cartridges simply gloss over. *Please note, this cartridge replaced the Ortofon Quintet Black (still shown in main image) in October 2021. Ex-service and ex-display models may be fitted with this cartridge instead.

Excellent service
I ordered a turntable on behalf of my dad. The Bath store confirmed availability very efficiently. The order was placed and was ready to collect a few days later. The staff then helped my dad put tge very heavy item in his car. Excellent service all round.
