The Chord C-lite uses a wide bandwidth PMA optical cable the ends of which have been polished to improve bandwidth. The central conductor is protected by an internal jacket of soft PVC which is then covered with a hard skin PVC outer jacket. This helps to prevent crush damage and is flexible enough to allow a tight bend radius without affecting the light carrier.
Ideal for connecting up your TV or other gear to a soundbar or AV receiver, the Chord Company C-lite makes light work of great sound.

Poor fitting goods that now have become dust colle
Purchased item on 22nd August 2023, had video on item in back of tv that it was loose and yet cambridge optical fits perfect and not loose took back to richer sounds in hull they stated OK and did offer a replacement but no REFUND first bad experience I have had I thought services would of been far better than this. Now I've purchased new different make as the chord did not fit correctly.

Just what asked for
The DAC I really wanted to complete.my house wide music system. I spend a lot of time now I am retired so small imperfections spoil the enjoyment of what and how I listen
The Cambridge audio magic 200m DAC fitted into rest of the hi fi system perfecctl. The shop manager and I agreed that though I could not get better for the money. The sound stage is fabulous especially for classical music. External looks good and works well to deliver stream from SONOS . The only minor complete is a lack of remote control
It will i feel be a much used device

Detailed sound, well made cable.
Compared this to Audioquest Pearl. I felt Pearl had a smoother presentation and slightly better low end but maybe slightly veiled(or darker) while the Chord was balanced had more air and detail. The Chord cable is not as flimsy as Pearl. Tbh cd have been happy with both.

Fantastic cable
2 weeks ago I bought this cable, wow what a difference it has made to my listening pleasure.
This is the 4th cable from this brand and my system is now complete with perfection in sound achieved

Good but no review sought for the DacMagic 100?
It is surprising that I have been invited to review the C-lite optical only. It was purchased with a Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100. I had to buy them by phone from the Southgate store because my local Kingston store could not find the DacMagic 100 that the website said that it had in stock. That added a delivery charge of around £8 to the cost as I could not use click and collect from Kingston, hence the overall 3 star rating.
The sound from the DacMagic 100 with the C-lite is good but it lacks a bit of detail and bass. It is definitely not as good as the sound from my Rega CD player which uses the same Wolfson WM8742 chip. Both are connected to my Rega amp with high quality Rega interconnects. I will seek to upgrade if Rega brings out a new DAC.
