Putting great sound first
Following on from the award-winning Debut Carbon, the Debut Carbon EVO takes the best in its class and makes it better. With a heavier platter, new motor suspension and improved damping, the sound quality is better than ever. Height adjustable feet make it easier to get the deck perfectly level, while electronic speed control adds to the convenience factor. A wide range of new finishes completes the thorough evolution of a classic.
Better damped for quieter, noiseless operation
The Debut Carbon has always used a dense, MDF plinth for low resonance, low distortion sound. The new EVO model features a heavier platter with incorporated TPE damping. The result is even better damping, giving lower background noise, enhanced detail and a more lifelike sound quality.
Perfectly positioned – with adjustable feet
With height adjustable feet, it’s now easier than ever to get the deck perfectly level – helping the tonearm and stylus track as accurately as possible. There are now three, rather than four feet, meaning the deck is dynamically balanced for greater stability. Rather than plastic, the feet are now made from heavy-duty metal.
Electronic speed control
For ease of use, the Debut Carbon EVO now uses electronic speed control. Rather than having to lift the platter and manually change the belt position on the pulley, a change from 33 to 45 speed happens at the click of a switch. A 78rpm belt is also included (78rpm stylus is recommended but not included).
Carbon fibre tonearm for a clearer connection to your music
A classic signature feature of the original model that has been carried through is the carbon tonearm. Usually found on more expensive turntables, this provides significant benefits to the sound quality. Being stiffer than steel, the tonearm is more rigid, which helps reproduce the music more accurately. In short, the music sounds tighter, punchier and more detailed.
Ortofon 2M cartridge included
Matching the quality of the deck and tonearm, the Debut Carbon EVO is supplied with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. Usually priced at around £100 on its own, this top quality cartridge ensures a high standard of connection with your records. The highly polished, tipped elliptical diamond gives excellent tracking without causing excessive wear to your vinyl.

With nine different finishes, there’s a Debut Carbon EVO to suit every style. Choose between Gloss Black, Red or White for high-shine appeal. Alternatively, select satin versions of Satin Black, Satin Golden Yellow, Satin Green, Satin Steel Blue or Satin White. I purchased a Satin Black Pro-ject Debut Carbon EVO from the Cardiff branch of Richer Sounds. They didn't have one in shop stock but arranged for free delivery to my home the next day. Once it arrived, the unpacking and set up of the TT was a doddle. I was up and running and playing vinyl in 10 minutes. I love my Pro-ject Debut Carbon Evo TT. Thanks Richer Sound's 👍

Love it. Great choice.
After careful deliberation, the Debut Carbon EVO was the right choice and Richer Sounds the right supplier. Very happy with the quality and finish of the product and ease of set up, quick delivery from the time I placed the order in store. Love the colour finish and carbon arm, could look at it all day.

This is an Outstanding Piece of Equipment!
As the title suggests, this really is an amazing turntable. I wasn't sure about investing in it having had some issues with a couple of Pro-Ject turntables already, but a chat with the guys at the Glasgow store convinced me it as the right way to go. And, boy, were they right.
Thanks to its adjustable isolated feet, leveling the turntable is a simple task. Moreover, it comes with straightforward instructions and all the necessary accessories, ensuring a swift setup process.
The Ortofon 2M Red cartridge delivers an incredibly detailed sound, creating an immersive experience that makes you feel like the artists are performing live in your room. Additionally, the 2M Red stylus can be easily upgraded to the 2M Blue, although this might not be necessary for most users.
Although this TT is outstanding out of the box, there are many upgrade options available to help you take it to the next level if you want to. Available OEM Pro-Ject upgrades include a grounded power supply, an acrylic platter, an aluminium sub-platter and bearing set, various slip mat options, and more. Many companies also offer third-party other upgrades.
Out of the box, the single thing missing from this turntable is an easy way to make a vertical tonearm adjustment, but that can be done for very little by a dealer.
Huge shout out again to the team at the Glasgow store, especially Stephen and John, for amazing service and help recently. I'm over the moon with this purchase.

Sounds great, tone arm was tricky to balance.
I've been enjoying listening to this, I already had an audio signal boost device which is connected to the preowned marantz 7000n amplifier i bought along with these items its connected via optical cable & I adjusted the settings on my computer and use Tidal. Sometimes the sound isn't perfect & I'm not sure why, the turntable is pretty good, I hope the tone arm is suitably balanced (I think it is)

Like the hidden speed switch, not too keen on the
Great deck. Only downside is the height profile which is a tad too tall, due to feet height. Sound is good when matched with a quality preamp. It’s similar to a Planar 2, much less fiddly with its speed switch discreetly positioned underneath. I’m enjoying it, but which they made them in a slightly lower profile, that’s my only niggle. It’s a great sounding deck.

Brilliant piece of kit; looks and sounds wonderful
I got this as an exchnage after returning a Roksan Attessa that proved a nightmare to set up - nearly destroying my love of vinyl (please see my other review). However, credit where credit is due: The way that Richer Sounds has resoved my issue has been fantastic - thanks to both from Steve and Paddy. This one is set up and sounding wonderful. The instructions are clear, straightforward and logical, and I think it sounds warm, clean and transparent enough for my humble budget.
