This page is intended to demonstrate the incredible value of our 6 Year Supercare. Under recent legislation, we are obliged to point out that you obviously do not need to purchase an extended warranty at the same time you purchase your electrical goods and are entitled to shop around. We have been encouraging our customers to do just that for years because, not only are our prices significantly cheaper than our competitors, but just look at what else we include:

Free loan machine (Subject to availability. Only if taken back to store)
Should you encounter a problem, just ask and you'll be provided with a unit to ensure you're not without music whilst your equipment is being fixed.

Like for like machine if unit is unrepairable
If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.

Free routine service / Maintenance checks
have your unit serviced as often as you wish, free of charge, during the 6 year period. (Normally excluded from extended guarantees).

45 day cooling off period
If you're not happy with our 6 Year Supercare package just ask for a full refund - no questions asked. After 45 days, providing no claim has been made, you can also terminate the agreement and receive a pro-rata refund.

If you use the policy in the 6 years, you'll have saved yourself tens and perhaps hundreds of pounds. If you don't use it... IT WON'T COST YOU A THING!*

* Simply return your unused Supercare policy within one month of the expiration date, and we'll refund the price of your warranty.

ESS Sabre DAC for superb sound quality

Renowned as one of the best DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertor) available, the 32-bit ESS Sabre at the heart of the M-DAC Plus is a very special device. Banishing levels of jitter and distortion to the lowest levels possible, it gives this DAC a natural and pure sound with low background noise.

Supports asynchronous USB
In addition to twin coaxial and optical digital inputs, the M-DAC Plus also features a USB interface. This Asynchronous device controls your computer's audio output stage for lower levels of jitter and a purer sound.

High resolution support via USB
If you stream music files via USB then the M-DAC Plus offers the very highest resolution currently possible. With the ability to stream at up to 32-bit/384kHz this DAC has its eye on not just the high resolution formats of today but of the future, too. It also streams DSD (Direct Stream Digital) files up to DSD256.

Professional connectivity
As well as a full array of optical, coaxial and RCA phono connections, the M-DAC Plus is equipped with professional grade AES balanced digital input/outputs. Combined with the balanced XLR stereo outputs for connecting to your amp, such as the Audiolab 8300A, these give the highest quality connections possible with excellent resistance to electrical interference.

Make your digital music sound its very best, with the Audiolab M-DAC Plus.

AUDIOLAB M-DAC PLUS is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic separation and brighter sound Having recently put a 40 year old pioneer record deck back into the hi fi system (amplifier : FMJ-A39) there was a notable improvement in sound quality between the analogue sound of vinyl and FLAC files played from Pioneer N50. The MDAC+ goes a long way to matching the analogue sound of vinyl. The unit gives fantastic separation. Vocals, bass and symbols now sound a lot clearer, the music just sounds a lot brighter. I've only played CD ripped FLAC and WAV files but I'll now be looking for some higher resolution files to see if there is an even greater improvement in sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, lots of inputs Upgraded my Audiolab Q DAC with this M DAC Plus. The difference is fantastic, much clearer dynamically with sound improvements right from the bass to the mids and highs. Well worth the outlay for the improvements. Very easy to use with some configurable settings. Make sure you have a good source for your digital music as this is more sensitive to jitter than the Q DAC but can be sorted by the jitter rejection setting. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressive sound Previously my system was a Linn Sneaky DS feeding directly into a Naim 140 power amp into Neat Motive SE speakers. That delivered a great sound especially once I started feeding directly into the 140 instead of going via an old Naim 32 pre-amp. The trouble with the above was I had no other digital inputs for my blu-ray etc so I went for the M-DAC+ to add this. As Linn know I thing or two about digital music I wasn't expecting a noticeable improvement but I was very pleasantly surprised. The biggest improvement has been in the separation of the music. I can now hear the individual singers in harmonies whereas previously they were masked. This is quite obvious and not something you have to listen for. I also hear more detail overall, there is more depth to the soundstage and sense of realism and having a band playing in the room is great. I have a fair amount of high res music which sounds amazing but the best thing is these improvements are audible on CD's ripped to FLAC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Revitalise your CD collection with this incredible device The MDAC+ is an amazing piece of kit. I owned the legendary Pink Triangle Da Capo in the 90s and this is the first DAC I have heard that gets anywhere near it in transparency, soundstage and neutrality. Not only that, it costs half the price of what I paid for the PT! The Audiolab is also much more versatile with spdif optical & coaxial inputs as well as USB for PC/MAC and iPad/iPhone. Unfortunately there is no easy way of obtaining the updated software. You would have thought that audiolab would have made updates available from their website, but no, you need to scour specialist hifi forums to establish updates even exist and then you need to email Audiolab to ask them to send you the file and instructions. I've only tried the DSD processing a couple of times, but on my system it sounds incredibly open and detailed. There isn't much content I would consider purchasing, but I'm sure the time will come when I'll be glad the facility is there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than the previous version This DAC deserves high praise. I bought it as part of a dedicated headphone system with the CXC transport. The built in headphone amp is Class A and the DAC uses the best chip on the market. It only needed one day to burn in. Sound is accurate and lively. Tone is perfect with balance and poise. All types of music are served well. I have only heard one DAC that is significantly better and it costs £5000.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best DAC For the Money I’ve always used a DAC in my system and recently decided to treat myself to the new M-DAC+ following several positive reviews in the Hifi Press. It’s outstanding the difference it’s made to my system, it sounds more open, detailed and the separation is astonishing. My previous DAC was actually more expensive when I originally purchased it so I was amazed how much of an upgrade this has given to my system. The facilities are also really great and very useful. Put it on your audition list if you’re in the market for a DAC under a grand
