World famous Uni-Q technology for a natural sound stage
The KEF Q950 uses a famous KEF technology to great effect, with the Uni-Q drive unit. This involves positioning the treble unit in the middle of the woofer, creating a single point source for sound across the frequency range. The end result of this is a broader, more cohesive sound that offers excellent stereo within a wider listening area.
Improved treble
A new damped loading system greatly reduces distortion, giving a smoother, more detailed top-end. The "tangerine" wave guide system helps the treble integrate more smoothly with the mid-range. Another improvement with the Q950 is the sealed top compartment - meaning that treble and mid-range aren't affected by the air movements from the bass units.
Aluminium woofer cone with Z-Flex surround for low distortion
Made from lightweight yet rigid aluminium, the woofer units are fast to respond and linear in their response. This helps give life-like dynamics and low levels of distortion. Using technologies developed in their high-end Concept Blade speakers, the Q950 offers attention to detail not usually seen in speakers at this level. The Z-Flex woofer surround gives superior cone control, helping it blend seamlessly with the treble unit for a more even and consistent sound.
Additional woofer and twin ABRs for window-rattling bass
Within its floorstanding cabinet the Q950 house no fewer than three extra bass woofers. One of these 8 inch cones is powered and is dedicated entirely to bass below the mid-range unit. Working like a subwoofer, this enables the Q950 to offer a hugely powerful and sustained bass that's at the top of its class. Improving this further, twin ABRs (Auxcillary Bass Radiators) utilise energy within the cabinet to further enhance and sustain the bass response.
Plinth included for enhanced stability
Coming complete with bolt-on plinths, the Q950 offer excellent stability. The design stretches out the spikes to give the highest level of stability possible. This has the effect of reducing distortion as the cabinet is more likely to stay in position and not 'rock' with louder music. Yet another great piece of attention to detail is that the spikes are also effortlessly adjustable from above - saving time and hassle when it comes to setting up.

Kef Q950
I received the Kef Q950s just over a week ago and they have surpassed my expectations. I had been looking to upgrade my old Kefs (Q35.2s) for a while now. After some extensive research I decided to go for the Kef Q950s simply because I loved the sound of my old Kefs but knew they needed to be replaced and upgraded. The Kef Q950s are simply outstanding. Listening to my old albums is like listening to completely different recordings. The detail and overall clarity is mind blowing. I knew that after 20 years I'd hear improvements but I wasn't prepared for the sound of the Kef 950s. Simply amazing speakers. Worth every penny plus they look great.

Fantastic speakers and excellent value for money!
I purchased KEF Q950's which are a brilliant speaker upgrade over my Mission 782's purchased back in 1998.
Truly happy with marvelous sound, detail and smooth warm sound that is detailed yet quite forgiving of poorer recordings.

Well made, great sound
I have had a pair of iQ30's for a good few years and thought it was time to buy a pair of good quality front L&R speakers with better bass, I was not disappointed. I now use the iQ30's as rear L&R surround speaker which they are better suited for.

Love these speakers !
First of all, having looked at some speaker reviews on YouTube of various brands, I became aware that the Kef brand was highly regarded. But it was the actual appearance of the KEF Q950 speaker that made me purchase these over any other brand. These speakers are the perfect Height for floorstanding speakers and are very well proportioned in regard to their Width and Depth - they look fantastic with or without the optional black grilles, however I do prefer their appearance with the black grille attached. The sound is great at low or high volume, it is rich in bass and clear and precise with the higher notes and can handle up to 200 watts of power. I am an Engineer and I appreciate the build quality also of these wonderful speakers. In summary these speakers look fantastic, sound great and are of very high quality at an affordable price. I absolutely LOVE them !
