The classic all-rounder
Ideal for small to medium-sized rooms, DALI designed the Opticon 2 MK2 to be as flexible as possible. Able to operate effectively from just 10cm from a rear wall, the Opticon 2 MK2 makes a room friendly choice. Alternatively, if you've got the space, the 2's are just as happy at up to 80cm from the back wall.

Featuring low-loss, wood fibre SMS woofers that are found in DALI's reference grade speakers and a brand new soft dome tweeter derived from the Callisto range, the Opticon 2 MK2 sounds better than ever. Dual Flare port for smooth, powerful bass
MK2 Opticon models feature a revised, Dual Flare port. Redesigning the port has delivered an optimised bass response, without creating undue turbulence that can distort the sound. The result is a richer bass at all volume levels.
Made in Denmark. Assembled in pairs
Rather than 'buying in' cabinets, DALI produces the Opticon cabinets in-house. This means they can be sure of the quality and consistency of build. The solid cabinets are designed for low levels of resonance giving low distortion and help to promote a natural sound. Assembled in pairs, the manufacturing process ensures the speakers are as closely matched as possible – meaning you get evenly balanced sound and the best visual match.

Superb bookshelf speakers
After comparing against various other speakers We decided to buy the Opticons, suited our ears and music tastes best. They have enough base to not need a sub, I probably will upgrade by adding a sub wooffer in the future but more than happy with the sound.

Very crisp sound
Bought these speakers yesterday after originally testing a new amp,but I liked the look of these Dali speakers so I had to check them out.So pleased I did.The sound is very impressive,it’s clear,crisp and packs a punch too.The staff at Richer Sounds were very helpful and knowledgable.

Dali speakers are surreal
As part of downsizing, I needed to replace a stack of separates and a pair of vintage KEF Corellis (small at the time but bulky by modern standards).
A Marantz CD streaming receiver was quickly proposed (there aren’t many all-in-one units) together with either B&W 606 or Dali Oberon bookshelf speakers. I was happy with either then, almost as an afterthought, Paul at Bournemouth suggested the larger Opticon 2. Although considerably more expensive, I’m glad he did.
Not being an expert, all I can say is the Opticons show far more detail than the cheaper speakers.
The soundstage is more defined, particularly for orchestral passages, and you become more aware of subtle percussion such as brushed drums. Acoustic instruments seem more natural; you become aware that a guitar is six strings and a plectrum. Having said that, they also cope with rock music at high volumes.
You definitely get what you pay for. In my case, I’m over the moon.
