Product Information
Delivering reference levels of sound quality, listening to the Anthem STR Power Amplifier is a breathtaking experience.

Reference stereo sound from the AV pros

The Canadian company that’s world renowned for making some of the best AV equipment in the world, also produces stereo amps and, as you’d expect, they’re something special. The STR Power Amplifier combines huge power with elegant delivery for a sound that’s mighty yet delicate when needed.

Massive power
A quick look at the STR Power Amplifier’s specs tells you all you need to know about this powerhouse. The dual mono design uses 16 output devices per channel and is powered by twin toroidal transformers. Power output is a monstrous 400 watts per channel at 8 ohms and up to 600 watts per channel with a 6 ohm speaker load. Simply put, the STR Power Amplifier has the power for any speaker in any room.

Delivered with finesse
The STR Power amplifier is about much more than sheer brute force, however. The input stage uses eight, low-noise devices configured in a complementary active-load cascoded feedback arrangement. This reduces distortion and lets the most subtle detail shine through. Likewise, the lack of any rail fuses helps clarity by reducing resistance. Transistors in critical stages are hand-selected and matched – giving the most consistent sound between channels and the lowest distortion.

Better protected
Anthem’s ALM (Advanced Load Monitoring) monitors the receiver’s temperature, current and voltage output – protecting the circuits when needed. Unlike other protection systems, ALM is non-evasive, meaning it operates outside of the signal path and, therefore, doesn’t affect the sound quality.

Professional XLR, balanced inputs
More usually found in studios, XLR balanced sockets offer excellent noise resistance and a ‘locked in’ connection for the lowest distortion and most secure connection. The STR Power Amplifier offers a choice of these alongside the more usual RCA phono inputs.

Graphic display with meters
Watch just how hard your STR Power Amplifier is working with the output metres. The high quality TFT display also other device information such as Thermal, Load and Amp On settings. What’s more, the display’s generous size makes it easier to read from the other side of the room.

Supersize your system’s dynamic range and soundstage, with the awesome Anthem STR Power Amplifier.

For stereo performance, the Anthem STR Preamplifier delivers a standard that's tough to beat.

Reference stereo sound from the AV pros

The Canadian company that’s world renowned for making some of the best AV equipment in the world, also produces stereo amps and, as you’d expect, they’re something special. The STR Preamplifier combines a high-resolution analogue pre-amp with built-in DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) for reference sound quality. Thanks to Anthem’s acclaimed ARC room correction system, perfect results are guaranteed in all spaces.

High-resolution sound
Handmade circuits, featuring top quality components ensure a clear, dynamic sound. For the best possible sound with your analogue sources, Analogue Direct bypasses auxiliary circuits for the ultimate in detail.

Anthem Room Correction for professional results in any room
Designed in conjunction with the National Research Council of Canada, ARC (Anthem Room Correction) provides a sonic output that’s ideal for your particular room. Using the supplied mic and stand, 5-10 placement measurements are made. Next, use the supplied software on your PC to determine the optimal settings on the amp to suit your room. The result is a sound closer to the original – in any room. (Professional set-up recommended).

Connect your digital sources
Featuring a built-in 32-bit DAC, the STR Preamplifier connects directly with your digital sources. With no fewer than two optical and two coaxial inputs, there are enough inputs for a CD, TV, streamer and set-top TV box. For the best sound from your home computer or laptop, there’s also an Asynchronous USB input – ideal for steaming hi-res music files right up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD 5.6 MHz.

Up-sampling to 192kHz-32-bit
Even if you don’t have access to Hi-res music files, you can get much of the benefit from your existing digital sources. Thanks to digital up-sampling, all digital inputs can be upsampled to 192 kHz/32-bit resolution for enhanced clarity and detail.

MM and MC phono inputs to suit most turntables
Making the STR Pre-amp suitable for all types of turntable, the built-in phonostage accepts both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) cartridges. The phonostage also offers six pre-RIAA curves plus adjustable settings to get the best sound from your cartridge and records.

Bass management for two subwoofers
The STR Preamplifier gives you far more subwoofer options than most stereo pre-amps. Twin outputs let you use one or two subs. If you decide on two, they can be configured for left and right or dual-mono – whatever you feel sounds best. Used in conjunction with Anthem’s ARC, bass management gives seamless blending for smooth, ‘thump-free’ sound.

Professional XLR, balanced interface
More usually found in studios, XLR balanced sockets offer excellent noise resistance and a ‘locked in’ connection for the lowest distortion and most secure connection. The STR Pre-amplifier offers a class-leading four inputs, four outputs for the analogue stage and a further digital XLR input.

Make the most of all your digital and analogue sources, with the Anthem STR Preamplifier at the heart of your system.

With its ‘Grand Class’ spec, the legend lives larger than ever, with the Technics SL1210G.

A legend in the home, studio and club
Developed as a turntable that was sturdy enough to be used professionally but simple and attractive enough to use at home, the Technics SL1210 was a hit from the beginning. Starting life in the early '70s, the SL1210 lived through five versions (in the UK) and, even at its demise in around 2010 was still seen by many as the reference deck for club use. Now it's back and, in G form, it's the best ever regular model!

The best SL1210 ever
The Technics SL1210 has always been superbly built but this is even better. Added to the existing three-layer chassis is a new, 10mm thick top panel, crafted from solid aluminium. This provides superior damping for a more dynamic sound. A newly developed, coreless motor is used to cut down on vibration with twin rotors providing high torque and an even load on the bearing. In short, the new SL1210G shouldn't just be the best-sounding but also the hardest wearing - with a weight of 18kg to prove it.

High spec magnesium tonearm
Unique to the top spec SL1210G is a magnesium tonearm (the standard models feature an aluminium one). Lightweight magnesium offers a high damping effect; quelling distortion. It’s also extremely rigid, helping the tonearm offer the most precise and detailed sound. High precision bearings and Technics’ gimbal suspension provide the smoothest tracking

Connect your own cables
Rather than using static cables, the SL1210G features brass-milled, gold-plated phono terminals. These let you choose your own length and quality of cable that's worthy of a deck of this capability.

Increased pitch control
A new 'x2' button lets you double the range of the pitch control from +/- 8% to +/-16%. This extra range makes it even more flexible as a mixing tool and even handier in the studio than ever.

Whether it's for use at home or earning its keep in clubs, the Technics SL1210G is simply the best of the best.

Technics

The Nagaoka MP-500 is a flagship MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge for super-smooth yet incredibly detailed sound.

Flawless sound
Standing at the top of the MP range, the Nagaoka MP-500 features the company’s most advanced engineering for a sound that’s extraordinarily smooth yet lifelike. The Line Contact diamond delves deeper into the record’s groove, retrieving the maximum amount of music possible, while the Boron cantilever and aluminium body ensure that distortion is minimised to the lowest levels possible. If you’re looking for the ideal MM cartridge to optimise the sound from your £2000+ turntable, this should be on your shortlist.

A history of precision engineering
With 85 years’ experience in making precision parts for watches and jewellery, Nagaoka soon built an expertise in making diamond stylus tips. It’s this heritage that makes the Nagaoka range of cartridges more than just fit for purpose - they’re precision engineered for the job.

Partner the Nagaoka MP-500 with your high quality turntable and enjoy the best that MM cartridges have to offer.

Designed for the ultimate music and home cinema thrills, the Paradigm Founder 120H makes every note count within its incredibly broad sweep of sound.

Flagship Founder for the ultimate sound quality
Standing at the top of the range, the Paradigm Founder 120H delivers sensationally dynamic sound for a true ‘live performance’ feel. The 3-way design uses active bass units with a built-in 1000 watt amp for premium subwoofer levels of bass power. Highly innovative midrange and tweeter units reveal every subtle detail, meaning that you don’t miss a note. Although large and suited to bigger rooms, these flagship speakers are also highly efficient, ensuring that even a low powered amp can drive them to enormous volume levels.

Active bass for mighty power and dynamics
With no fewer than three, 8” woofer cones, the Founder 120H has little trouble hitting (and holding) the lowest bass notes. What’s more, the woofers are actively driven by a built-in 1000 watt amplifier – guaranteeing thunderous bass, irrespective of the system amplifier used. Think of it as a premium quality subwoofer, built into each speaker, and you get an idea of just how mighty these speakers sound.

ARC Genesis room correction for perfectly tailored sound
Although incredibly deep and extended, the bass never becomes overwhelming. Thanks to built-in ARC Genesis room correction, sophisticated electronics adjust the bass response to suit your room’s acoustics. Developed in conjunction with home cinema experts, Anthem, the system compensates for sparely or densely furnished rooms, meaning that the bass is perfectly balanced.

AL-MAG midrange driver delivers lifelike vocals
Packed with innovative technology, the dedicated midrange driver reproduces natural and lifelike vocals. The cone uses an alloy of aluminium and magnesium (AL-MAG) for ideal sonic characteristics. The sound is channelled through Paradigm’s PPA (Perforated Phase-Aligning) lens for pin-point accuracy and cohesion, ensuring that the sound is blended as accurately as possible by the time it reaches your ears.

AL-MAG tweeter for intense top-end detail
The innovational tech continues with the tweeter unit. This also uses an aluminium and magnesium blend but with a ceramic coating for further enhanced performance. It has PPA for accuracy and precision. In addition to this, the tweeter features OSW (Oblate Spherical Waveguide) that guides the soundwaves towards the listening position and away from the room’s peripheries, giving you a highly focused top-end response.

High efficiency design for wide-ranging system versatility
Exceptionally high room sensitivity (95 dB) makes these speakers easy to drive and undemanding for lower powered amplifiers. This makes them the ideal choice for pairing with valve and pure Class A amps that might have a power output of around just 15 – 25 watts. Because the bass is actively controlled within the speakers, the amp only has to focus on the midrange and top-end, meaning that you get exceptional dynamic reach, whatever the amp you use.

Cascade-braced cabinet for the lowest distortion
Using extensive cabinet bracing that ‘cascades’ down inside the cabinet, the structure is immensely strong and rigid. The design also helps in breaking standing low-frequency waves, delivering a tighter and clearer bass response. The drive units are fitted to the cabinet via advanced Shock-Mount decouplers, which help isolate the drivers from cabinet vibrations, further improving the clarity and detail across the frequency response.

Available in a wide range of premium finishes
Premium speakers deserve a special finish and that’s exactly what the Founder series speakers have. You can choose between one of the sumptuous wood finishes – Black Walnut, Midnight Cherry and Walnut, for the best match with your furniture. Alternatively, Paradigm also offer an exclusive Founder Forty-One Collection of finishes, which includes Ruby Frostbite, Frozen Charcoal and Azure Ice for stand-out style that becomes the centre of attention in any room.

Luxuriate in the ultimate sound, with the Paradigm Founder 120H.
