X-Enhanced for smoother sound
Replacing the PTFE insulation with high performance XLPE (Cross Linked Polyethylene) improves the performance of this already impressive cable. As used in their high-end Signature XL cable, XLPE outperformed PTFE in listening tests. Superior insulation reduces interference, giving a smoother, more natural sound with enhanced detail.
Quality construction
The Chord EpicX ARAY is built from heavy gauge silver-plated, multi-strand, oxygen-free copper conductors with an increased volume of insulation around each conductor. These are encased in a specially chosen PVC jacket to minimise mechanical noise and enhance durability.
ARAY geometry
The Chord EpicX ARAY also benefits from Chord’s ARAY conductor geometry. The result is a cable that carries a lot more detail, dynamics and better portrayal of the individual instrument’s timbres. The ARAY conductor geometry means it carries this extra information with all the coherence it needs to make for a genuinely musical and involving sound.
Bespoke cable
For the best performance possible, Chord have added a third conductor in their hand built XLR range. That means three identical conductors for all three connections, as well the Tuned ARAY conductor technology. This promotes the most balanced sound and the least distortion possible.
Top quality ChorAlloy XLR plugs
The EpicX ARAY Analogue XLR cables are fitted with the latest version of the Chord Company’s XLR plugs. These use the next generation of pin-plating technology – ChorAlloy.
