High performance DAC made even better
Based on the already impressive TERMINATOR15th model, the Denafrips TERMINATOR15th Plus raises the bar still higher. Using an upgraded power supply, it succeeds in getting even more from the innovative 26-bit R-2R DAC technology. By using three separate power transformers, individual functions don’t just have their own power supply, they have a dedicated transformer, too.
True balanced 26-bit R-2R DAC
Utilising balanced 26-bit, R-2R technology plus 6-bit DSD (Digital Signal Processing), the TERMINATOR15th Plus delivers next generation DAC performance. Compatible with Hi-Res Audio up to 24bit/192kHz on all inputs and an incredible 1536kHz on USB and I2S inputs, it maximises your audiophile music files. For further versatility, it’s also compatible with DSD files up to DSD1024 on the USB and I2S inputs.
Triple power transformers for the purest possible power
Featuring three power transformers, rated at 250W, 80W and 60W, the TERMINATOR15th Plus delivers ample, clean power to different sections of the DAC. With complete isolation between the Digital Processing Board and R-2R ladder network arrays. Physically linked by the OCXO module, this design minimises noise and enhances the signal-to-noise ratio for the purest sound possible.
Rhodium-plated power socket
The TERMINATOR15th Plus’s meticulous attention to detail goes so far as to include a rhodium-plated power socket. Superior to even gold-plating, rhodium-plating provides a low resistance and long-lasting termination.
Oven-controlled crystal oscillators - OCXO
Equipped with dual OCXOs at 45.1584 MHz and 49.152 MHz, the TERMINATOR15th Plus ensures ultra-low phase noise and exceptional accuracy. These OCXOs are housed in a metal casing and powered by a specially designed, shielded power supply for optimal stability.
Adaptive FIFO buffer re-clocking
The TERMINATOR15th Plus uses adaptive FIFO buffering that stores digital audio data, which is then read using the ultra-low phase noise OCXOs. This data is converted to analogue signals by the true balanced R-2R ladder network arrays, with high-precision resistors ensuring linearity.
Encapsulated power supply
For the best noise isolation possible, the TERMINATOR15th Plus features a steel plate divider between DAC motherboard and PSU box. This creates a box-within-box construction, alleviating the need for a two-box system. The encapsulated power supply features transformers that are rated at a mighty 250w and 80w, ensuring effortless current to supply the highly sophisticated digital processing. Made from a gold, silver and copper alloy, the transformers are exceptionally stable for high purity sound.
Superior connectivity
Capable of handling pro or home components, the Denafrips TERMINATOR15th Plus has a wide range of digital inputs. Input an I2S signal via HDMI LVDS, RJ45 LVDS or RJ45 LVCMOS. Dual AES/EBU balanced inputs are ideal for reference grade CD transports and streamers with XLR balanced outputs. Connect to your home computer via the USB input module, bypassing your computer’s soundcard. There are also coaxial and optical digital inputs for all your other digital sources.
Reference casing
Available in black or silver, the TERMINATOR15th Plus uses a full-size case for Denafrips’s highest quality finish. The extra-thick, 1.5mm all-metal casing delivers excellent electrical shielding and a premium quality feel.
