Headphone amp and and enhanced DAC, in one
Just like the original FiiO K9, the AKM version combines a powerful, low distortion headphone amp with twin DAC digital processing, giving you optimal headphone sound from a wide variety of sources, including wireless Bluetooth inputs. What’s new is the powerful digital electronic circuitry from AKM.
Flagship DAC components
At the heart of this FiiO headphone amp is AKM’s flagship DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) technology comprising two chips – the AK4191EQ and AK4499EX. It uses separate digital and analogue sections and enhanced signal routing for the highest possible signal to noise ratio. This promotes a quieter backdrop for sensational detail and realism. Put simply, the FiiO K9 AKM lets you hear details in your favourite music that you may never have heard before.
High Resolution sound
The DAC also facilitates High-Res sound – up to 768kHz/32 bit and DSD512 when using the USB connection and a wide range of High-Res files including LDSC, aptX HD and AAC.
Wide ranging headphone compatibility
With its THX AAA 788+ amplifier, the K9 AKM produces incredibly faithful, low distortion sound. Low, Medium and High Gain Modes means that the amp seamlessly matches your headphones, with ample power for driving even the most demanding models.
Balanced outputs for pro-connectivity
For the highest quality connection, there’s a choice of headphone outputs, including 4.4mm and XLR-4 balanced as well as a regular 6.35mm output. With XLR-3 balanced outputs at the rear, you can connect into a set of compatible powered speakers, hi-fi amp or studio mixer and use the K9 AKM as a standalone DAC.
Bluetooth input
The K9 AKM is ideal as a bridge between your smartphone and wired headphones – especially as most smartphones no longer even feature a headphone socket. With a Qualcomm Bluetooth QCC5124 chip at its heart, the system is compatible with top quality formats for High-Res music file support.
Wide range of digital inputs
Thanks to its expansive range of inputs, system flexibility is a given. Connect your laptop or desktop via the USB-B connection and enjoy the very best in High-Resolution music streaming. Coaxial and optical digital inputs suit a TV, streamer and CD player. For analogue sources there’s a choice of RCA phono and 4.4mm balanced inputs.
