In the mid-1990s, Musical Fidelity launched the A1000. This amplifier powerhouse was arguably the first ‘super integrated’ amplifier and set the standard for others to follow for years to come. Fast forward today and Musical Fidelity still make a standard setting super integrated – the awe-inspiring M6si500.
Premium quality
Inside the M6si500 you’ll find electronics that do full justice to this amp’s ‘super’ status. Although all the components are in one box, left and right channels are carefully separated – right down to their separate toroidal power transformers. This monobloc design gives a purity and accuracy of sound that you’d usually expect only from a separate pre/power design.
Simply immense power
With its immense 500 watts per channel, the M6si500 simply powers through the music – no matter what the volume, room size or speaker load. Even at lower volumes, that mighty power makes its presence felt. Like driving a car with an oversized engine, the power is always there – even at lower volumes. In the case of the M6si500, this means you get a deep, dynamic sound with true bass depth – even at modest listening levels.
Balanced input option
For pro-quality connectivity, the M6si500 features balanced XLR inputs. Connect these to a compatible source (such as a CD player or streamer with XLR outputs) and you get a ‘locked in’ connection, with the ability to run a far longer cable, without a drop off in performance.
‘Tank’ like build quality
Weighing a mighty 30kg (unboxed!) this super integrated amp qualifies as a two-person lift. The super-solid casing is built to contain the weight and features structure enhancing, die-cast heatsinks. As well as giving the amp its pro studio appearance and solidity, these heatsinks dissipate the enormous amount of heat generated by the 500 watt amp. This is not an amp to put in a cabinet!
