MB2.5-B – premium quality compact floorstander
The Scansonic MB2.5-B is a compact, floorstanding speaker that’s built to perform to the highest standards. Exceptional cabinet rigidity and driver quality means super-low levels of distortion and remarkable bass performance – right down to 36Hz. Ideal for smaller rooms, the front vent also allows the speakers to be placed closer to a wall than usual.
Ribbon tweeters for a super-detailed top end
Featuring high-end ribbon tweeters, the MB2.5-B captures the most subtle detail. With a top end response stretching right up to 40,000Hz, there’s less dynamic compression, which gives you smoother, more natural harmonics for a low distortion, lifelike sound.
Carbon-coned woofers for natural mid-range
With its super-rigid, carbon-coned woofers, the MB2.5-B delivers vanishingly low levels of distortion. The high-precision cones produce natural vocals and lifelike instruments, making these speakers amongst the most realistic-sounding in their class.
Dedicated woofer for deeper bass
A second woofer in each speaker helps improve the speaker’s efficiency, giving a more balanced sound – especially at lower volumes. The dedicated woofers also extend the bass reach – much deeper than you might expect for a speaker of this size. With a frequency response that drops right down to 36Hz, these speakers challenge many a subwoofer for outright bass depth.

The tapered cabinets are reinforced with not just internal bracing, but also a carbon insert top panel. This attention to detail ensures a remarkably ‘silent’ cabinet, letting you hear more of the music and less colouration from the cabinet.
