The Tascam BD-MP4K is a slimline, professional quality 4K Blu-ray player that’s ideal for playing a wide range of media. The versatile player is compatible with 4K and regular Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs. It also has SD card and USB readers, making it ideal for playing back digitally stored audio and video, too. At the heart of the BD-MP4K you’ll find a top spec, UHD Blu-ray player. UHD (4K) Blu-ray is a premium Blu-ray technology that delivers four times the resolution of regular Blu-ray, for stunning picture detail.
Plays back a vast range of disc media
In addition to UHD Blu-ray, the BD-MP4K is compatible with a vast range of other disc based formats. These include BD25, BD50, BD-ROM, BD-R and BD-RE Blu-ray discs. It also plays regular DVDs, including DVD-ROM, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW and DVD-RW discs. Finally, there’s CD playback, including CD-CA, CD-R and CD-RW discs.
SD card reader and USB playback
Continuing the playback flexibility theme, the BD-MP4K is fitted with SD card and USB readers. These support FAT16, FAT32, exFAT and NTFS files. The USB interface is a highspeed, 3.0 port and supports flash drives with up to 2TB total capacity.
Connect to your network
Using a Gigabit Ethernet connection, you can link the BD-MP4K to a NAS (Network Attached Storage) drive or file reader and playback files from a remote server and accessible via a Samba network share (SMB/CIFS).
Multiple output solutions
A wide range of audio and video outputs makes it easy to link this Tascam Blu-ray player to a wide variety of systems. There are two HDMI outputs, one which combines audio and video, the other which is audio only for linking to an AVR. For a professional audio connection, there are balanced XLR outputs. Regular RCA phonos and a coaxial output analogue and digital signals, respectively. Finally, for legacy AVRs, there’s a 7.1 RCA surround sound output.
