Product Information
Smooth, powerful yet detailed sound, makes the Teac AP-701 the choice of power amp for a wide range of music genres.
The perfect partner for other Teac Reference 700 components
The Teac AP-701 is an excellent power amplifier in its own right, but it works especially well within a Reference 700 system. Combine it with the UD-701N network pre-amp DAC and you get a feature-packed, two-box amplifier of superb quality. Add one of Teac’s famous VDRS CD players and perhaps a CG-10M, too and you’ve a true reference quality system that looks as good as it sounds.
Power-packed performer
Featuring twin, Ncore power modules, the AP-701 packs a mighty punch. Specially tuned for this power amp, the modules help the AP-701 deliver 170 watts per channel, giving you supreme control over a vast range of speakers, no matter how inefficient they are.
Dual mono design for enhanced soundstaging
Constructed as a dual mono design, left and right channels feature their own circuits. Splitting the two channels in this way reduces cross-distortion, helping to improve the soundstage for a more enveloping and three-dimensional sound.
Individual toroidal power transformers
For the most stable power supply and smooth dynamics, Teac have specified high-capacity, toroidal power transformers. For ultimate precision, there dedicated power transformers for left and right channels.
Control flexibility
For the most versatile connectivity, the AP-701 connects to your pre-amp via balanced XLR or regular RCA phono sockets. It’s also switchable between stereo and bi-amp mode, letting you use two for even greater power and control. Auto power and 12v trigger sockets ensure home installation compatibility when positioned remotely.
‘Pin-Point’ feet for mechanical isolation
Incorporating two separate metal sections within a single housing, Teac’s Pin-Point feet provide highly effective isolation from surface vibrations. The two-part feet use an enclosed ‘spike and cup’ solution to effectively disperse vibrations. With three feet fitted, the unit remains stable on all types of surfaces.
Full metal chassis
Designed to match Teac’s other Reference 700 products, the AP-701 fits right into a Teac system. The robust metal chassis uses a floating structure to keep the transformers isolated from the delicate electronics. The ribbed side panels both aid cooling and function as further dampening, helping to reduce distortion to an absolute minimum.
Let your music soar to its full potential, with the Teac AP-701.
