Product Information
Designed for ultimate CD performance, the Teac VRDS-701T transforms your CDs’ sound, revealing a whole new level of detail.
CD transport for system versatility
With no built-in DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor), the Teac VRDS-701T can be connected to your choice of DAC or directly to a digital amp or AVR. Use it with a Teac Reference 700 system and you can connect it to the UD-701N, using the streamer’s DAC to convert the digital signal. You can also upgrade the sound of both this and the streamer’s click accuracy, with Teac’s CG-10M Master Clock Generator.
Iconic VRDS mechanism
Teac’s VRDS-7 of the 1990s was an iconic CD player that’s still revered today for its exceptional transport mechanism. Today’s Teac VRDS-701T updates the transport, helping to make it an icon of its time. The VRDS (Vibration-Free Disc-Clamping System) clamps the CD to a platter, stabilising rotation and reducing vibration. The entire mechanism sits on an isolated sub-chassis that quells any vibrations transmitted though the casing. The result of this thorough engineering is smoother disc rotation, meaning that the error correcting circuits have less to do which, in turn, leads to purer, more natural sound.
MQA playback
Featuring a built-in MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) core decoder, the VRDS-701T plays back MQA encoded discs at 88.2kHz. This innovative tech offers better than CD sound quality without requiring vast amounts of discs (or file) storage space. Simply pair with an MQA-rendering DAC (such as the Teac UD-701N) and enjoy the full benefits of this advanced technology.
Individual toroidal power transformers
For the most stable power supply and smooth dynamics, Teac have specified high-capacity, toroidal power transformers. For ultimate precision, there are twin supplies; one for the CD mechanism and one for the digital section, giving precise control of every element of the player.
‘Pin-Point’ feet for mechanical isolation
Incorporating two separate metal sections within a single housing, Teac’s Pin-Point feet provide highly effective isolation from surface vibrations. The two-part feet use an enclosed ‘spike and cup’ solution to effectively disperse vibrations. With three feet fitted, the unit remains stable on all types of surfaces.
Full metal chassis
Designed to match Teac’s other Reference 700 products, the VRDS-701T fits right into a Teac system. The robust metal chassis uses a floating structure to keep the transformers isolated from the delicate electronics. The ribbed side panels both aid cooling and function as further dampening, helping to reduce distortion to an absolute minimum.
Maximise your CDs’ full potential, with the Teac VRDS-701T.
