Multi-source music
Designed for commercial applications, such as shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, the PCR3000MK3 takes care of all your music sources in one, slimline box. Connect wirelessly and stream via Bluetooth. Plug in your stored music via USB or SD card. Slot in a CD or simply select from DAB or FM and listen to the radio.
Bluetooth, wireless connection
With Bluetooth connectivity, you can connect any smartphone or tablet and stream music from it. Perfect for playing stored music on your device, it also works well for playing from streaming services, such as Spotify, Deezer and Tidal.
CD player
The standard CD player means this music player is backwards compatible with CD. With Auto Play you can choose for the music to start where it left when powered off, or wait for a new command.
USB and SD card inputs
Brilliant solutions for storing huge music collections, SD Cards and USB sticks are now capacious enough to hold vast collections of music – without the shelf space taken up by CDs. Up to 32GB and 9999 songs per device are supported. There are USB connections at both the front and rear – perfect for a temporary or permanent connection. You can also choose between Auto Play and Cue with these sources.
DAB/FM tuner
If you’d rather just let the radio play, the PCR3000R MK3 will oblige with that, too. Both DAB (digital radio) and FM are standard, covering all local and national stations.

Useful bit of gear
APART PCR3000R Mk3
I saw this on the Richer Sounds web site when looking for a DAB tuner to replace my ancient Pioneer FM unit. This is a DAB+/FM tuner plus media source player. Specifications indicated that there is a built in CD player (which I also had on my shopping list as my Marantz CD player stopped working some time ago). It also has a Bluetooth facility which I thought would be useful as I play music around the house via various sound bars and Bluetooth speakers. There is also SD and USB ports for additional media support which is also something that is useful as I put music onto USB flash drive for my wife to play in her car. I couldn’t find any reviews on this box of tricks and the fact that it cost well over £500 was a slight worry but considering that it does everything that I was looking for and more I phoned up Richer Sounds and discussed it with a member of staff who was very help (thank you James) and proceeded to ordered it there and then. As it was a special order item and there wasn’t any in the country at the time it took about 10 days to arrive. I have had the unit a month or so at the time of writing.
This unit is arranged into two sections with two independent displays, the left display is allocated to CD, SD and USB and the right display allocated to the FM, DAB+ and the Bluetooth functions. Likewise around the back the RCA outputs are also similarly dedicated with independent output level controls on each, there is also an output that combines both sections if preferred. There is also optical, coaxial and RS232 outputs. The remote handset is also arranged into independent sections with dedicated buttons for both each.
The FM/DAB+ tuner section is straightforward to set up just plug in the aerial run a channel scan and then allocate your preferences to the 10 presets on each. Likewise the Bluetooth function is similar, connect the short aerial to the back of the unit make your Bluetooth device visible and wait for them to find each other.
In use the adjustable outputs are a useful feature as it allows you to balance the signal to match the level to the other devices that you have connected to your amplifier. The display on the right gives artist/track information on both FM and DAB channels whilst playing but no folder or track information from the Bluetooth transmission. This is also true on the left hand display when playing from a USB device, if you have several folders saved to the flash drive it will only tell you the number and order of tracks. It does not tell you the current album or artist or track name which is slightly disappointing considering just about all automobile units allow you to access the folder and/or the tracks as desired.
