We try to fix things first
Repairing is one of the core ways we reduce waste. That’s why we have a team of dedicated expert technicians, including in-house engineers with over 100 years’ experience between them, repairing audio gear and TVs so you can keep enjoying them for longer. Most of our TVs come with a free 6-year guarantee to back that up.
We also run regular clearance and graded sales, giving perfectly good (and often only lightly used) products a second life at better prices. You get a pre-loved bargain, the planet gets less waste. Browse our latest clearance deals, or contact your local store for the best offers.
Easily recycle with our in-store take-back and trade-in schemes
Electrical waste is one of the UK's fastest growing waste streams, and we want to help reduce it.
To help tackle this, we offer in-store take-back. If your old hi-fi or TV equipment has value, trade it in for money off with our Trade Up & Save scheme. If it doesn't, you can still return your old like-for-like item free of charge to any of our 51 stores within 28 days of buying something new. Just bring your receipt. Online customers can also arrange a collection on most TV purchases for a small transport fee.
What happens to your old gear? Where possible, we repair and resell it, or carefully check for working parts that can be used to fix other equipment. Anything beyond that, we pass on to our registered waste partners, who then do everything they can to repair, reuse, or responsibly dispose of it.
Clear labels helping you make informed choices
When you see the EU Ecolabel or Energy Saving Recommended logo on a TV, it means that product has been independently certified. These logos indicate products that use less energy, contain fewer harmful substances, and are designed to be more durable and easier to recycle at the end of their life.
Making thoughtful eco choices behind the scenes
Environmental responsibility isn’t just about the products we sell, it’s about the sustainable choices we make behind the scenes. We constantly review our packaging and disposables so they’re as green as possible. We deliberately choose distribution and transport partners that meet strong environmental standards.
We're committed to sustaining our environment for future generations and work with Carbon Footprint Limited on clean energy projects.

1. 30.6% carbon reduction: Verified annually by our waste management company, 1st Waste Management Ltd.
2. 100% renewable energy: Our carbon footprint is independently monitored every year, and we formally report progress through the Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) framework, publicly available via Companies House. We've achieved a 30.6% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions against our 2018/19 baseline (financial year ending May 2025), and are targeting 50% by 2030. To date we've also offset 2,957 tonnes of CO2 through verified renewable energy projects, earning Carbon Footprint Ltd's carbon neutral accreditation.

Always trying to improve
We’re not perfect. We keep asking ourselves how we can work better, keep improving where we can. We promise to stay honest about what genuinely reduces environmental impact, whether that’s repair and reuse, or if that’s responsible recycling and everyday operational choices.
Our commitment to you and the planet is to keep improving and finding ways to minimise our impact. If you’re interested in finding out more, you can read our full sustainability policy
