As a CD only transport, the Audio Analogue AAdrive is optimised for CD and CD alone. Based around a modified Teac CD5020A transport, it offers optimised sound quality from your CDs – just add a DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) or connect to a digital amp or AVR.
Optimised CD transport
The heart of this CD transport is a Teac CD5020A mechanism. This is designed specifically for audio use, meaning it doesn’t have the noise and performance compromises of more general CD-ROM drives. Although totally fit for purpose in its own right, Audio Analogue have made it even better. Adding a solid aluminium support clamp, for example, improves the rigidity for lower levels of read error, giving reduced distortion.
Choice of outputs
With a choice of coaxial or balanced XLR outputs, the AAdrive connects to a wide range of components. Use the coaxial to wire up to your DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) or digital amp, or, better still, connect via XLR to a compatible ‘pro’ grade DAC, such as the matching AAdac.
AAdac – the perfect partner
Connect to the AAdac, preferably via the XLR interface, and you have a world-class CD player. Designed together, these components sound even greater than the sum of their individual parts. As both components are half width, placed side-by-side they take up no more space than a regular CD player. Plus, they look exquisite.
