Premium quality CD transport – just add your choice of DAC
As a transport only, the Audiolab 9000CDT comes without a built-in DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). This means it needs to be connected to either a digital amplifier or your choice of separate DAC. It makes the ideal partner for the Audiolab 9000A amp, which already comes fitted with a top quality DAC. Alternatively, stunning results can be achieved when paired with a dedicated DAC from the likes of Chord Electronics, Pro-Ject, Audiolab’s own M-DAC Plus or other premium brands.
USB file playback
More than just a CD transport, the 9000CDT also double as a USB media device interface. Simply connect your USB media player to the USB-A connection and playback/control music files in WAV, AAC, WMA and MP3 formats. Thanks to the full colour display, you’ll also be able to easily locate and track your stored music.
Isolated transport for the purest signal
Mounted in its own, shielded enclosure, the CD transport resists electrical and mechanical interference, allowing the laser to read the disc as accurately as possible. Using a read-ahead digital buffer, it’s also more tolerant of imperfect discs that might be scratched or dirty, letting you play your most loved discs that other players won’t.

Audiolab 9000 CDT
Excellent service from Simon & Keiran in the Glasgow store. Attentive & informative - knowledgeable, very helpful & input much appreciated, not least with the deal agreed. And a great piece of equipment to boot! Replacing a 20+ year old Linn disc player so had to be good. It is - these guys know their stuff.

Impressive sound and built quality
I just wanted to write a quick review of this cd transport because it has really impressed me with its sound quality it is nice and solid and feels like it will last, the remote control is also a decent quality although all plastic.
I've had various bits of hifi over the past 30 years and this is rather special. It gives a very precise and detailed sound, I am hearing small details I've never heard before on well know cds. If also has great prat and everything sounds natural. I can listen for hours and it never gets fatiguing or harsh, I just want to carry on listening. The bass is detailed, controlled and deep, it holds everything together so well. The mids are clean and detailed and everything is again very natural and unforced.
I can't find anything that I don't like and that's not an easy find for me. If you value your cd collection then this transport deserves your attention, it's really rather special.

A winner of a cd transport. Highly recommended.
In purchasing another cd player I was unsure about a cd transport but so glad I did. This is of course the flagship in the range but you can see where the money has been spent. It is so well put together and will last years.
I have partnered with a mid range dac but of course the path to an upgrade is easy if I step up to a better dac in the future. I have a large cd collection and I also love to stream in high quality. But now cds are in most cases sounding better than even hires streams. The key point to make is the level of detail on tap. All areas sound better than cds played on my Naim cd player. To be fair this player is now 10 years old.
The Audiolab is a winner and is highly recommended by me.

Audiolab Convert!
An excellent product from Audiolab and excellent service from Richer Sounds.
The aim was to replace my broken Cambridge Audio CD Player, and I had a list of players to try which to be honest didn't include the 9000CDT.....
I was keen to hear the difference between CD players and CD Transports so the demo room was set up for this with a number of players/transports at different price points.
It quickly became apparent that I preferred the sound from transports side of all players we tested as the sound was more controlled and detailed.
Out of all the units tested the Audiolab 9000CDT was head and shoulders above the rest, the sound quality is just incredible I am heard detail that I have never heard or noticed before, I know it has been said before but it really has breathed new life into my CD collection.
I must add the I received excellent service from the staff at the Richer Sounds Cardiff store, they took their time to understand my requirements and were very patient as we tried out different combinations with different music tracks - nothing was too much trouble. I was told that they would try and make sure my CD transport will be delivered next day and they were true to their word.

Amazing sound from Audiolab 9000CDT
I just received this CD transport and it pairs very well with my 9000A Audiolab amplifier. It offers huge dynamic range and clarity in the CDs I play and will even reads scratched discs so I can play my old cd collection again, it’s great!

Audiophile marvel
I was so happy to see that Audiolab had launched a new tray loading cd transport after I reluctantly had to return the 6000cdt due to issues with the slot loading drive. I purchased a Cyrus CDXt Signature which whilst being a well reviewed cd transport, didn’t really do it for me personally. I just felt it was to relaxed in my system and lacking that excitement. From the moment I turned on the 9000cdt, the smile that was lost had somewhat returned. It bought back that excitement that I remember from the 6000cdt but now with greater separation of the instruments, clearer vocals and just that overall finesse. If I had any criticism I would say the screen is a lost opportunity. I’m not one for graphical animation and would have expected at least the option of CD-text would have present. Luckily the animation can be turned off albeit leaving a boring layout of information. However this is audiophile bargain which in my experience outperformed my original £2k transport!

Excellent
Better than I expected and it's a great move forward in sound quality to my headphone system. Detail,separation,and soundstaging are superb. Overall build quality are also excellent.
