A 14 inch cone and 500 watt amplifier combine to make the DALI K14 a formidable subwoofer.
Bass to make the room shake - from a 14" cone
For the deepest bass you need a large cone and you won't find a lot bigger than the DALI's 14 inch beast. This sizeable cone shifts plenty of air so you can feel the lowest bass notes rather than just hearing them. The long stroke woofer is made from aluminium, meaning it's light and rigid - perfect for clean, accurate low frequencies.
Power brings control - 500 watt amplifier
Keeping the monster cone under tight control is an equally impressive 500 watt, Class-D amplifier. With this much effortless power on tap, the bass not only has the potential to go loud but also cleanly and without distortion. Whether you're watching an action movie or listening to music, the bass kicks in exactly when it's supposed to and is gone just as quickly. Bass 'overhang' simply isn't an issue with this sub.
Solid cabinet for distortion-free sound
There's little point in producing a powerful sub if the cabinet isn't built to cope. Fortunately, the K-14's cabinet is more than up to the task, as its total 26.4kg weight proves. With thick cabinet walls and a solid aluminium base, you won't find any rattles or distortion from this cabinet.

The K-14 sub is available in either silk matte white with a gloss white baffle or black ash with a black front panel, making it easy to match to your decor or home cinema equipment.

Dali K 14 sub paired with KEF wireless 2 speakers
I have had this sub woofer for 2 weeks so this is not a long term review. It is large and extremely heavy but obviously beautifully made. There is no cover to the speaker so I can't recommend it if you have small children or a dog that might damage the speaker. I have thought of making a cover when not using, the front is vulnerable. The white satin finish is excellent and minimises its presence on pale walls but it does look like a small washing machine in white. Best if you have a big room and a free corner to place it in.
There is an integral stand. The speaker does not sound good on just the stand on a carpet. Lots of ill-defined muddy bass. Fit the spikes supplied and place on a thick dense piece of wood on the carpet and it transforms. I have also bought some acoustic metal discs to put the spikes into also tightening up the sound. I plan finally to place the wood on acoustic feet and then use the spikes/metal discs as well. Without carpet and a hard floor it would be much easier but this might apply to any subwoofer.
The Dali K14 now works extremely well, a very deep, relaxed, tight clear sound. You have to play with the volume on the sub, not too much as it is very powerful. The crossover is controlled via the LFE input.
It takes some positioning, heavy lifting and experimenting to get the best out of this speaker but once done it does reflect in sound its considerable cost.

Simply WOW!!
I Purchased this sub 4 weeks ago as I was impressed in the demo room, after setting up at home I can honestly say this thing is a game changer when it comes to Movies and music. I have a 6m x 5m room and this fills it with the most amazing deep controlled bass, only problem I have found so far is how to stop all the doors in my house rattling!!

Massive but clear and competent
I purchased the gloss white version as a start to reduce the overall impact of having a sizeable unit such as this in the room.
It's simply massive but in white it's elegant well designed and airs quality. The base frame and spikes are solid and remove the boom throughout the house. My partner noted that she lay in bed listening to the music and it sounded crystal clear without any annoying thump distorting the other sounds.
I have this turned roughly half open with the cross over a little lower.
It accompanied PMC21s from a Roksan Oxygene Amp and Arcam r play streamer. The experience is worth it and although I thought this would steal the thunder of the speakers with the cross over it aligns to suit manually.
What a great piece of kit. Tune it to your needs and enjoy the soft blue sub surface led light on the bottom left corner to show its active... nice touch.
