Exceptional top-end response
Derived from Focal’s reference models, the Beryllium tweeter is a highlight. The Beryllium material is chosen for its lightness and rigidity. Developed and patented by Focal, the inverted dome tweeter is capable of covering over five octaves (1,000 – 40,000Hz), ensuring super-smooth harmonics and intense top-end detail.
Flax NIC mid-range and bass cones for a natural sound
Focal’s woofer units are equally as innovative as the tweeter. Using a flax (French linen) construction, the cones are both light and rigid. The unique TMD cone surround acts as the perfect damper, allowing it to move freely while eliminating harmful vibrations. NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) technology features a Faraday ring, creating an optimal magnetic field for precise driver control. Swift to respond to the signal, the cones deliver a natural mid-range and a tight, punchy bass response.
Twin, 8” woofers for the deepest bass
Featuring a wider cabinet and larger woofer units, the Kanta N°3 has incredibly powerful bass. With twin, 8” woofers per speaker, the bass is powerful enough to match many a subwoofer. It’s not simply all about bass power, however, the highly efficient design ensures a rich, well-balanced sound at lower levels, too, meaning that the sound is more lifelike at all volumes.
Time-aligned drivers for sonic precision
The unique curvature of the front of these speakers doesn’t simply provide a more aesthetic appeal, it helps with the sound quality too. By setting the drivers at specific depths, the sound from each arrives at your ears at precisely the right time. Known as time-aligning, this creates a more harmonious sound. The cabinet is constructed from moulded multi-ply panels, delivering exceptional rigidity and ultra-low distortion. Supplied with metal outrigger feet and spikes, the speakers are well isolated from the floor, helping to reduce room resonance and distortion.
