Five decades after the BBC first commissioned a small monitor speaker that could be used in its outside broadcast vans, the LS3/5A design has become a true legend within hi-fi circles. Since its inception fifty years ago, there have been many variations, manufactured by a wide number of companies, but all stuck to the same principle – the most accurate sound possible, especially in the crucial mid-range.

Harbeth have been making the P3ESR variation since 2012, but this XD2 version moves the game on further still. Using its exclusive RADIAL4 cone technology and a revised crossover, the sound is more transparent and faster-paced than ever, with a beautifully integrated bass response and richly detailed top-end.
