Ifi Zen PhonoOnly just received this. Not convinced it is any better than the inbuilt phono amp on my Project turntable.
No complaints about the build quality or ease of use. Delivery was definitely ace being one day earlier than advertised.

Good but not quite......I bought this to try against a rega fono mm I had on loan. Great service from the Leeds staff in that I was able to try without commitment. The Zen appeared to be the one to use to compare at the price point from research I had carried out. And I am glad I did. The Zen is good compared to the phono stage in my Roksan Kandy K2 amp (also purchased from RicherSounds some years ago,) but it just has not got the big hearted punchy sound of the Rega. I spent quite some time comparing them on all types of music and the Rega wins comfortably. I had read all sorts about the Zen, but in my careful testing comparison, it was a disappointment. It sounded restrained in comparison to the Rega and a little anaemia. Also, it does not feel particularly impressive in use either. But the Zen was still a significant improvement over the sound of the very poor Roksan phono stage. I would strongly advise anyone who is thinking of a dedicated phono amp at around £200 to audition the Rega. I bought one eventually from DNA audio in Otley. I only wish Richer Sounds stocked Rega because I would have really liked to have given the excellent Leeds store the business. Having said that, DNA Audio were very good to deal with.

IFI Zen Phono preamplifierBought specifically to facilitate (in my case) an upgrade to use a moving coil cartridge with my hifi setup. The simplicity and compactness of the design make the Zen phono so easy to sit alongside or accommodate near to and connect with other kit. Connectivity options are good, and the it is clear that ifi have carefully chosen quality components for the construction. Straight "out of the box", and with my existing audio connection cables I find that the sound reproduction shows a clear improvement in dynamics and "purity" compared to my former preamp (with a moving magnet cartridge). It's a no-brainer offering fantastic value.

Unbelievable difference in soundMy Yamaha musiccast has a built in phono amp but it lacked punch and clarity. After reading some good reviews about the iFi audio Zen Phono with the excellent help and service from the Leicester shop. Fast delivery easy to set up and the sound quality and difference is amazing. Really picks out and separates each instrument. If any one is looking for a budget phono amp the iFi Zen is the one to go for

Perfect product for my needsI’d been looking for a phono pre-amp to fit in an already cramped hifi cabinet, I wanted it to have the best possible sound for the smallest footprint. I compared multiple products and eventually went with the iFi for its looks and solid build quality, however since the purchase I have had the opportunity to compare the sound quality with other similarly priced/sized pre-stages and I’m happy that this iFi was the best in class here also.
