The Musical Fidelity M6x DAC represents 35 years of continuous development since the original MF Digilog first hit the market in 1988. This DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) is its most sophisticated yet and has the ability to transform your system’s sound quality. From its dual-DAC configuration to its 16-core processing, the M6x DAC is engineered to excel with all types of music. Thanks to its headphone output, it also makes the ideal partner for your high-end cans.
Dual DACs for breathtaking clarity
For the most spacious sound and crystal-clear detail, the M6x uses dual ES9038Q2M DAC circuits. Configured in a dual-mono design, you get to enjoy enhanced soundstaging, with the full width of sound perfectly resolved.
Ultra-low distortion
The M6x DAC deploys a Time Domain Jitter Eliminator for the smoothest, lowest distortion sound possible. The DAC also features upsampling and re-clocking, optimising the signal from all your digital sources, including those with lower resolution outputs. Thanks to the powerful 16-core processors, all this ‘digital magic’ takes place so seamlessly that there’s no sonic downside to the high level of signal processing.
Personalised sound, via seven filters
With seven digital filters and a complete oversampling bypass available, you can tailor the sound to your preferences and type of file being played. The filters have the effect of slightly softening or sharpening the music in stages, optimising the sound for specific genres.
Upgrade all your digital sources
The M6x DAC features five digital inputs, making it ideal for upgrading your entire digital system. For your CD, TV and network streamer there are two optical and one coaxial digital inputs. A USB-B interface makes the ideal connection for your home computer or laptop. An AES/EBU balanced input pairs with studio grade components, such as high-end CD transports. All the inputs are compatible with Hi-Res signals up to 24 bit/192kHz, with the USB input extending this to 32 bit/768kHz.
Super-silent power supply for enhanced dynamics
Utilising Musical Fidelity’s ‘Super Silent’ power transformer, the M6x is mechanically discreet and unobtrusive. This super-silent background enhances the dynamics and it means even the quietest and most subtle musical notes shine through.
Headphone amplifier
The built-in headphone amplifier is an impressive device in its own right, making the M6x DAC ideal as a high-end desktop audio system. High in bandwidth and low in background noise, the sound is athletic and quick to respond. The high current output suits less efficient headphones, too, making it easy to drive a vast range of different headphone brands to their optimal performance.
