A bigger picture, without a big TV
Thanks to the Cinema X P2 projector, a big picture doesn’t have to mean a big TV. This ultra-short throw projector is designed to work at very close range to a wall or screen. Simply place on a bracket, shelf or sideboard in front of the wall and you’ve got instant big screen entertainment – whatever the size of room. Enjoy an image from 85 – 120 inches, with the projection just 47 – 66cm from the wall.
Laser power for incredible contrast
Featuring laser lighting, via a Texas Instruments’ DMP DLP system, the CinemaX P2 is at the cutting-edge of projector technology. Laser power offers many advantages, the first of which is the picture with superb levels of contrast (2,000,000:1) and colour realism. The design should last far longer than a typical projector bulb and provide a more consistent performance over its lifetime.
See the picture ‘pop’ with HDR
With HDR10 and HLG compatibility, the CinemaX P2 is the ideal match for your UHD Blu-ray player and other 4K HDR video sources. HDR not only offers deeper blacks, brighter whites and more vibrant colours, but also subtler images, too. So what looks like an area of solid black on an inferior projector, is shown to have shade and texture, previously unseen.
Native UHD 4K resolution for the ultimate resolution
Making the most of HDR10 compatibility is UHD 4K resolution. Projecting in this resolution gives detail and realism that's impossible to achieve with conventional Full HD resolution. UHD 4K resolution is four times greater than the more conventional 1920 x 1080 Full HD projectors and it's a difference you can easily see on a large projection screen. Eye-popping detail and the sharpest definition make this the perfect projector for UHD viewing.
Designed to excel at home
Thanks to its superb brightness figure of 3000 ANSI Lumens, the CinemaX P2 works well in all room environments. Even during daylight conditions with curtains or blinds open, the Optoma produces a bright, natural picture. Now you can enjoy big screen entertainment at any time of the day, without having to keep the sun out.
A step-up in sound
Most projectors have the basic speakers or none at all. While we’d always recommend a home cinema speaker system, there are times when this isn’t possible or you just want to watch a soap or documentary without having to switch the full system on. This is where the CinemaX P2 excels. Featuring a built-in soundbar with Dolby Digital 2.0, the CinemaX P2’s speaker system delivers powerful audio that’s more than a match for most TVs.
Voice control ready
If you own an Amazon Echo or Google Home device, then controlling this projector is just a voice command away. Ask Alexa or Google to turn the projector on/off, adjust the volume, change the input and more.
Using the built-in App store Marketplace, you can access a wide range of entertainment apps, giving you effortless control from your smartphone or tablet. Netflix, YouTube and Spotify are just three of the most popular apps that are ready to go. Note – Google Play services not supported.
SmartFIT app for the perfect image
If you have an uneven wall or the projector is at an angle to the screen, SmartFIT helps correct the image. Using your smartphone or tablet, you can individually control each corner of the screen for a perfectly aligned image.
Picture the scene – with FRAMED
With 12 embedded digital images*, the CinemaX P2 brightens up your blank wall when you’re not watching a film, TV or gaming. Each image is created by a renowned artist and will transform your room.
*12 artworks are on exhibition from 1/9/20 to 1/3/21 and will no longer be available to display beyond this date.
InfoWall for more than just entertainment
Another option for filling that blank wall comes via InfoWall. Using the Optoma Connect app, you can set the projector to show a range of feeds, including weather, video and social media feeds. It can even be set to wake you up with calming music.
Sleek, award-winning design
With its sleek white finish, complemented by silver and grey detailing, it’s little wonder that the CinemaX P2 is a design winner. Having scooped awards from iF, Red Dot and Good Design, there can be few projectors that set the design bar so high.
Enjoy a bigger and better image, in any room, with the Optoma CinemaX P2.

Rated 4 out of 5 by courts from Fantastic picture, but problems pairing with AV Had this about a year, and as per below, picture is amazing! I purchased along side a Yamaha AV, then Deonon, but experienced a bad pairing process and wasn’t manageable. Richer sounds worked with me on this, and we eventually found another Yamaha RX-A880 which did the job. Be warned, can take 5 mins to pair with the Receiver - but once up and running there’s no issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DC1979 from Easy to set up, great sound, great picture I've had this a couple of weeks now and I've been streaming various content including 4K from Disney+. So far I've just been projecting on to my wall with an 80" inch screen size (it will be 120" when my cinema room is done), it's amazing how big the picture is given it's only about 6" away from the wall. As well as having an amazing picture the sound is excellent too, so much so that I'd happily use internal speakers if I didn't have an Atmos amp ready to hook up when my cinema is complete. So far I'm very happy but will update my review when I've got my cinema set up fully with a larger screen and proper surround sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by vmailj from A new world entry Its been a good 10 days past with my new Optoma Cinema X P2. Though I had been hesitant to spend such kind of money on an ultra short throw projector - where the same image quality is available in the conventional long throw projectors, I sincerely feel proud to have chosen it. The image quality is marvelous. The operability is quite easy and the set-up took hardly 15 mins. The sound is good enough for a small room. And the projector is significantly quiet CONS: 1. The available software (android) is pretty rubbish; hardly interests anyone 2. The screen is a deciding factor; I wish Optoma had collaborated with an ALR screen vendor and helped the buyers setup a neat work 3. The interface to change the image quality is cumbersome; Rather than single choice the available parameters has to be adjusted for every switch of content (Netflix Vs Amazon PRime Vs Youtube Vs Media player) 4. The remote controller seems a little poor quality - where the buttons are too shaky and noisy 5. No vertical image shift option Despite all these - I am sure the product has won my heart
