Having already caused a stir with its reimagined cassette portables, We Are Rewind has now turned its attention to recreating the boombox. The We Are Rewind BLASTER • CURTIS is the result and, just like the portable, it recreates the best of the past with today’s technical advances. Featuring a built-in cassette deck, with amplifier and stereo speaker system, it’s the perfect player for music at home, indoors or out, or for taking with you on adventures.
Powerful, stereo sound
Two-way, stereo speakers punch out room-filling sound. The soft dome tweeters feature dedicated Class D amplification for precise top-end detail that really cuts through. The stereo woofers also have their own Class D amplification, delivering smooth vocals and punchy bass. With a total of 104 watts to call on, the BLASTER • CURTIS has the power to make its presence felt.
The best of cassette
For smooth, stable sound, the BLASTER • CURTIS features a powerful, user-adjustable motor with internal speed regulation. It’s also compatible with a wide range of cassettes; Type I (normal) and Type II (chrome). For low noise recording and the best possible frequency response, it uses an active AC erasing head.
Also a Bluetooth speaker
As well as playing cassettes, the BLASTER • CURTIS is also a high quality Bluetooth 5.4 speaker. Using technology that was unthinkable in the heyday of the boombox, you can easily pair with your smartphone or tablet and stream from your favourite music service, such as Spotify, Amazon or Apple Music, or access and replay your stored music.
Record from all sources
More than just a player, the BLASTER • CURTIS also records. Better still, it records from three input sources. Link up an audio source, such as a CD player or phono pre-amp-equipped turntable and use the AUX input to record your music. You can also record from the Bluetooth source or via a microphone input, making this a highly flexible recorder.
Portable design with rechargeable battery and carry handle
Featuring a built-in, rechargeable battery, the BLASTER • CURTIS is good for up to 10 hours playback in tape mode and 15 hours in AUX mode. Combined with the folding carry handle, this makes it ideal for music in your garden, at a holiday home or on any adventure where you fancy a musical backdrop.
Retro design with VU metres
Finished in classic black and silver, the BLASTER • CURTIS evokes the prime days of Boomboxes. For added retro fun, it’s equipped with stereo VU metres that ‘bounce’ with the music.
