Product Information
The intelligent design of the Wharfedale Diamond A1 active speakers means you get hi-fi quality sound with wireless speaker ease of use.
Choose active speakers for complete flexibility
If you're seeking quality sound but don't want all the boxes that go with it, the Wharfedale Diamond A1 active speakers could be just what you're looking for. With built-in amplification and a wireless input hub, all you need is a source, such as your existing smartphone, tablet or home computer and you're ready to go. The system is fully wireless so just needs plugging into the mains for power, with the hub within 20m of the speakers.
All the inputs you could want
For wireless streaming from your smartphone, tablet or computer, simply pair up via Bluetooth. Apt-X compatibility gives you the highest quality sound from compatible Bluetooth sources. With both optical and coaxial digital inputs you can connect up your TV or Blu-ray/DVD/CD player, too. For all other sources, there are even conventional RCA phono inputs - ideal for something like a pre-amp equipped turntable.
Putting sound first
With a powerful 100 watt amplifier built-in there's no need for a separate amp. 50 watts per speaker means that even larger rooms can easily be filled with immersive sound. Making sure you get a clean, wireless signal, the A1 operates on the 5.8gHz frequency band. By avoiding the crowded 2.4gHz band used by most wi-fi devices, the A1 is able to switch intelligently between frequencies, guaranteeing minimal interference, wherever your speakers may be placed. Additionally, the DAC is built around a high performance 24bit chipset delivering a CD-like quality from all devices.
Class-leading Wharfedale drive units
The bass drivers are formed from woven Kevlar with ribs for added rigidity. Vocals sound incredibly realistic, and the bass is upbeat and never lags behind. At the other end of the scale the treble unit is surrounded by a deeply dished waveguide. This helps to improve the imaging and 'width' of sound, making it easier to pick out individual instruments, as well as providing loads of detail. Put together, the overall sound quality is fantastically well-balanced.
