An award-winner made better
To celebrate the success of its award-winning turntable, Argon Audio have made the TT-4 even better. The Argon Audio TT-4 Special Edition features a revised platter with upgraded mat, superior Ortofon cartridge, enhanced wiring and, most striking of all, a luxuriously deep, gloss black finish with gold script. New platter and mat
The Special Edition version of the TT-4 features a thicker rubber mat and damped platter. These further reduce vibrations for an even purer sound and less background noise. As with the regular model, the thick plinth and heavyweight platter add mass, which helps to produce bass that’s both deeper and more sustained. The sound is more dynamic than the smaller models in Argon Audio’s range, meaning that you hear a broader scale of sound for a more lifelike balance.

Carbon fibre hybrid tonearm with ATS
For precision tracking, the TT-4 Special Edition is fitted with a carbon fibre hybrid tonearm. This uses a carbon fibre arm tube with ATS (Anisotropic Torsion Stabilizer ) and an aluminium headshell. Being stiffer than steel, the tonearm is more rigid, meaning that it conveys the music more accurately, as there's reduced arm resonance. In short, the music sounds tighter, punchier and more detailed than before. For the SE version, Argon Audio has fitted improved wiring for improved clarity.

Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge included
For a big step-up in sound, Argon Audio has fitted the TT-4 SE with the superb Ortofon Bronze cartridge. Costing over £300 when bought individually, this premium quality cartridge maximises the turntable’s full potential. Using a Fine Line diamond, it gets deeper into the record’s groove, revealing more detail than lesser cartridges. The Lexan DMX body helps eliminate resonance, promoting a more natural sound.

Built-in phono pre-amp for flexible connectivity
For near universal connectivity, the TT-4 Special Edition features a switchable phono pre-amp. This means you can wire the deck up to any hi-fi or speaker system with an ‘AUX’ input, with no extra devices required (RCA cable supplied but your system may require an RCA to 3.5mm adapter). If you have a dedicated phono pre-amp, or a high quality one fitted to your existing amp, you can simply switch off the one in the turntable.

Luxurious finish
In terms of design, Argon Audio have really pushed the boat out with its flagship model. The high gloss black finish is carefully built up from five layers of lacquer.
