With power up, true stereo speakers and enhanced networking, the Bluesound PULSE MINI 2i raises the bar for compact wireless speakers.
Generation 2i
Version Gen 2i brings a whole raft of streaming improvements. Apple AirPlay 2 is now supported, as is aptX HD Bluetooth. The HD version of aptX Bluetooth streaming supports 24-bit audio, making this the best quality Bluetooth connection to date. Another bonus is the adoption of dual-band wi-fi. The new wi-fi chip lets you take advantage of the less noisy 5 GHz band if needed. This results in faster connection times and fewer interruptions from other network traffic.
Two-way Bluetooth for compatibly with Bluetooth headphones
Another bonus with this Gen 2i version is two-way Bluetooth. This not only lets you connect up Bluetooth music sources put also outputs to Bluetooth accessories, primarily Bluetooth headphones in this case.

Now with enhanced amplification and reconfigured stereo speakers, the PULSE MINI 2i sounds more immersive sounding than ever. For the best sound in all conditions, DSP (Digital Signal Processor) settings include Wide Mode, Late Night and Dialogue – changing the speaker’s sonic character to suit.

Amazing sound
The sound is amazing but the technology still seems a bit clunky. I’m keeping the faith and hoping with updates this will improve with time. An example is all of a sudden the radio quits and an error message comes up that is cleared by a reboot. Not ideal but not fatal.

Cracking Speaker
Bought 2 of these speakers for a stereo setup in the living room (approx 5m x 10m). They are more than powerful enough and the sound quality is very impressive. I also like how flexible they are; they can be easily moved and aren't too fussy about placement. I already have the Pulse and Pulse Mini and the system works brilliantly as a mutli-room set up. Compared to the original pulse mini the bass is tighter and there is a bit more clarity. The Pulse beats the mini 2i in terms of sound quality, but it is significantly bigger!
