Chord Electronics Mojo (Black)
USB DAC/Headphone Amp
Make the most of your DAC. View our hottest deals on interconnects.
Audiophile sound quality for your smartphone* or laptop
No matter how good your headphones, the sound will always be let down by the low quality DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) and amp built into your smartphone or laptop. With the Chord Mojo you get a huge increase in quality on both fronts. The Mojo uses Chord's latest and specially developed digital technology for stunning levels of realism. The powerful amp drives even the toughest headphones, giving them the potential to sound their most expressive and dynamic.
*Microsoft Windows smartphones not compatible.
High Resolution audio compatible
The extremely high quality digital processor is compatible with a huge range of high resolution music formats. Capable of playing files from 32kHz to an incredible 768kHz and even DSD512, the Mojo doesn't just match its larger and more expensive rivals for compatibility, it beats them. The USB socket is compatible right up to 32-bit/768kHz, while the optical input still boosts an impressive 24-bit/192kHz file capability. In short, if you're in to Hi Res then the Mojo has all the processing power you could ask for.
Although it's pocket-sized, that doesn't stop the Mojo from having excellent connectivity. As well as USB, you can input a digital signal via optical or coaxial (3.5mm) inputs. Thanks to the pair of headphone outputs fitted, two people can enjoy the music. You can even charge your mobile device via a second USB interface.
Aircraft-grade aluminium construction
Rather than using cheap plastic, the UK-built Mojo is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminium. This not only makes it great to hold but also extremely tough and durable as well as electrically shielded from outside sources of interference.
Intuitive colour coding
With its intuitive, colour changing buttons, the Mojo is a cinch to use. The power button changes colour dependent upon the file type used, ranging from red for 44kHz to white for DSD files. The volume lights also change colour as the level increases or decreases, making it easy to remember your favourite settings.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mghmay from Great sound, easy to use. I've had this for about 2 weeks now, the sound is natural, bright, addictive, increadibly clear and detailed, the highs and lows are exceptionally well balanced, it makes me excited to listen to music again, old and new. If I had one minor gripe about the sound it's that the soundstage isn't particularly wide, this gives music an exciting albeit packed in sound. It powers the Sennheiser HD660s well but I really thought the open backed headphones would sound much more, well, open. The ability to play up to 32/768 and DSD 256 is useful, I've particularly enjoyed listening to well produced new albums in DSD (The Weeknd's After Hours is one highlight). It comes with numerous inputs (although so far I have only used the micro USB). The ability to run two headphones out of it is a nice option although I haven't used this feature yet and honestly I would prefer something like an optical out so it could run as a standalone DAC but I mainly need it for headphones so it's fine. It would even be helpful to have a balanced 4.4m output as my headphones have this wire as well... I don't really see the point in having two identical 3.5mm outputs. There are a few things I would change, out of the box it comes with very few instructions so it took me a good few hours to get it working properly (you need to download and enable the DSD ASIO drivers to make it bit-perfect in Foobar). It also needs to be charged over two USB wires, it won't charge with the one USB wire supplied (i.e. it has a micro USB input and a micro USB charging port) which is slightly annoying and leads to needless amounts of clutter (also modern laptops have very few USB ports which requires dongles etc, it's just annoying). I have also so far been unable to connect it to my phone even though I have tried everything which is equally annoying (the instructions are basically 'plug in and it will work' which is... wow, super helpful thanks). I've also had it crash a few times while listening to music which, while sitting in bed ready to get to sleep, is frustrating to say the least. All in all, I like it, I like the sound which is the most important thing. But there are a number of problems with it you should be aware of. I would recommend it and most listeners probably won't have the same problems I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DeanoF from Worth the investment Really enriches the music, full of deep bottom end and top end that's not harsh, which is what I found with the Dragonflys Red and Blue. Really worth investing in if you have the cash to stump up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by UsandThem from MObile JOy! I've had the Mojo a couple of weeks and I'm never going back. As a novice just getting into the hobby, I wanted to improve the sound of what I was already using without breaking the bank and I definitely made the right choice. Whenever you look into the best portable DAC's, the Mojo will almost always be on the list - and with good reason. The difference it's made to my music is incredible, opening up a whole new world for me. I love the portable size of the Mojo, the sturdy construction makes it feel like a quality product and the user interface is a little quirky, but I love it. If you're looking to improve the sound of you mobile phone or laptop, this is the perfect place to start.
