Great Sounding Floorstanding Speaker
Still running them in so can't say for certain the long tern use but sound great and worth the extra £££ to save up for. Much better sound than my first choice. Great with classical music and very detailed.

Great Speakers, Great Package, Great Service.
Bought the Rubicon 6'S from the Glasgow Store recently after discussing my requirements with Charlie by Telephone. I thought I new roughly what I wanted which was MA Silver 500's or Gold 200's to replace my ageing Mission 753 Freedoms, along with a Cyrus CDi to replace a DAD3Q in an older Cyrus CD System comprising Cd, Pre, 2 x Powers (mbloc) & 4 x PSX-R Power Supplies. Additionally I wished a Bluesound Node to get this Luddite with his many thousand piece CD collection and counting to progress into the 21st Century.
Having previously demo'd speakers, the MA's were really my 2nd choice after the Rubicon which I thought was just beyond my price range.
However Charlie offered me a deal on the Rubicons and the rest is History. There was no going back after that.
Signed up for a CDi & a Bluesound Node also.
What can I say. The Rubicons are a superb match with the Cyrus Equipment and have as yet, still to run in fully. The CDi just uplifts the system to almost unimaginable levels.
I currently use Chord Odyssey Speaker Cable and Chorus Interconnects and was initially thinking also of upgrading these. Well to my ears now, there's absolutely no need!!
All the Glasgow Staff have been absolutely Brilliant and though they have temporarily lost a Sale with regards to Epic Speaker Cable and Interconnects they have certainly gained a Customer for Life. Or life in as long as a soon to be 60 Year old has still got to listen to sounds that immerses his senses in nothing but pure pleasure. Mark

Just as good as the demo
Bought at the end of July and now 'run in'. Just as good as the demo. Were not on my list, was not planning to buy, was just demoing as thought I had already chosen a pair of ProAc DT8. Left the shop after an hour having bought a pair of Rubicon 6 speakers and new amp! Am listening every night again. Thanks Ian (Reigate) for an excellent demo)
Replacing 30 year old Rogers LS7t's and Arcam Delta 290. Can't afford to go back for a while.

Spellbinding speakers
I bought these approximately one month ago. Upgraded my Dali Opticon 6 speakers, had no chance of a demo with lockdown and extremely happy with the sound transformation across the full range. Paired with Yamaha RX-A860, rubicon central speaker and now my opticon 6’s are at the rear. Truly amazing.

Sound so pure
Started with upgrading my amp and CD player to Audiolab (with great advice and guidance from Filip in the Swiss Cottage branch) was convinced my KEF speakers would reflect the informed signal as KEFs are not low end. Vast improvement but not quite right... back to Filip... Rubicon 6 and Audiolab power amp. What can I say other than perfection. I’m now listening to every note on every album as it was meant to be heard.

Worth the extra cost over the Opticon’s
I ended up choosing the Rubicon 6’s after trying out several speakers over a period of a month. I initially purchased a pair of Dali Zensor 7’s as they were front ported and I thought this would suit my room better with the ability to sit them close to the back wall; however, I felt like they were missing something when vocals were played in songs. I spoke to Rob in the Bournemouth store after reading a review on the Opticon range. He allowed me to try the Opticon 5’s and immediately I was sold, as they were so much clearer than the Zensors (all to do with the different tweeter). In the back of my mind I couldn’t buy them without trying the Opticon 6’s and this is where it all started. These were my next choice as the bass went lower and sounded better controlled with the additional driver. Rob allowed me to demo the Rubicon range in store before deciding and again my preference was for a speaker with a second driver and so the Rubicon 6’s were taken home to test side by side with the Opticon 6’s. Whilst the Rubicon range cost considerably more than the Opticon range, the Rubicon 6’s suited my room better. They are rear ported with one of the ports situated lower down on the cabinet than on the Opticon range and they worked well from only 20cm’s from the rear wall, which is the recommended minimum. This suited the location of the speakers in my room, as they were less ‘boomy’ when the volume was cranked up, as the right speaker is situated in a corner. Rob also said that the cabinets are stronger (and heavier) on the Rubicon range and so this would also help with this issue. Whilst I would have been happy with the Opticon 6’s, I couldn’t resist being able to crank up the volume on the Rubicon’s without the ‘boomy’ effect. Another nice surprise was the gloss black finish, as I had assumed they would be a gloss front with matte finish cabinet, like in the Opticon range. Having tested many of the Dali speaker range (Zensor 1’s rears were changed to Opticon 2’s) the room they are going to be situated in has a big impact, as the difference in performance between the Opticon and Rubicon range is small, but the price difference is much bigger. You will not be disappointed with either range but if your budget can stretch to the Rubicon’s and they suit your room, they are worth the extra cost.
