The Denafrips HADES12th is a refined stereo pre-amp that’s ideal for use with matching Denafrips components. Like many of the company’s other components, the HADES12th features fully discrete circuitry and a fully balanced implementation. Combined with the Class A output, this ensures the high purity sound that you’d expect from Denafrips.
Class A design for sonic purity
Class A amplification is renowned for its smooth, high purity signature. It requires careful engineering, temperature management and high current power, all of which the HADES12th has in abundance. Being a discrete design, there are multiple separate components, rather than simple audio ICs, meaning you get a less artificial and processed sound.
Relay stepped attenuator for seamless volume control
Using similar principles to Denafrips R-2R DACs, the HADES12th features a relay stepped attenuator. Its advanced microprocessor-controlled relay-based 60 stepped attenuator, features precision-matched resistors, ensuring flawless channel balance and an astonishingly low distortion level of just 0.000230%.
Highly engineered power supply
For a pre-amplifier, the HADES12th has a powerful, highly engineered power supply. A bank of low noise capacitors provide a linear power supply, with ample reserve for dynamic music swings. Powered by a shielded, O-Core transformer, there’s plenty of current to ensure the capacitors are working at their best.
Balanced design for ultra-low noise
For optimal performance, there are balanced inputs and outputs to maximise the balanced Class A circuitry. Connect to a music source with a balanced output and a power amp with a balanced input and you get to enjoy ultra-low levels of distortion for the most natural sound possible.
