Designed to partner the Fosi Audio ZA3 amp, the pair make a perfect couple. Both feature subtle design with a striking flash of orange to set them apart. They also work in sonic harmony – especially when connected via the XLR balanced sockets.
High-end components for smooth and detailed sound
For the most detailed and revealing sound, Fosi Audio’s flagship DAC is packed with top name talent. The ESS ES9039Q2M DAC delivers rich, dynamic sound, with incredibly low levels of distortion. Elsewhere, the XMOS XU316 and Qualcomm QCC3031 chips ensure not just high level sound quality but also exceptional efficiency.
Customise the sound via upgraded op-amps
If you fancy getting more involved with custom sound and are comfortable with basic DIY, the ZD3 gives you the option to upgrade the op-amps. Available separately at additional cost, op-amps such as the SS3602, MUSES02 and OPA2134PA subtly alter the sound signature, simply by unplugging one circuit and exchanging it for another.
Hi-Res Audio compatible
Connect your PC or laptop via the USB socket and you’ll be able to stream Hi-Res audio files at up to 32 bit/768kHz and DSD512, giving sensationally lifelike sound. Switch to optical and coaxial, and PCM file compatibility is up to 24 bit/192kHz. With wireless Bluetooth, it’s 24 bit/48kHz.

Featuring a premium Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.0 circuit, the ZD3 is compatible with high-end formats, such as aptX, aptX HD and AAC. This means that you get detailed sound with more sparkle than ordinary Bluetooth musters.

With no fewer than four different types of digital connection, the ZD3 has every base covered. Enhance your TV’s sound by connecting to the HDMI ARC input. For a laptop or desktop boost, use the USB-B socket. Other devices, such as a CD player, network streamer or set-top box can all be connected via the optical and coaxial digital inputs.
Balanced outputs
For studio-grade connectivity, link the ZD3 to your compatible amp using the balanced XLR sockets. The balanced design reduces signal loss, especially over longer lengths, giving you the best possible link between devices.
