Featuring a premium quality, 10”/12” active/passive woofer array and mighty 550 watt amplifier, the REL S/550 has precisely the bass weight and depth that you’d expect from this market-leading brand. Despite its mighty power, the S/550 is modestly proportioned, making it ideal for use in smaller and medium-sized rooms.

Fitted with a 10” CarbonAlloy active woofer, backed up by a 12”, down-firing carbon passive woofer, the S/550 delivers incredible bass depth for its size. The active/passive combo work in perfect harmony to produce bass that’s not just ground-shakingly powerful, but also agile and fast to respond.
Effortless power
REL’s Linear Class D amplifier produces a formidable 550 watts power output. As well as sustaining extremely deep bass, the amplifier has huge reserves of power and current, ensuring that the bass is fast to respond and has the ability to recreate the edge-of-seat tension that makes the best action movies so compelling.
Stackable for next-level bass immersion
Stackable at up to three units per side, the S/550 six-pack utterly transforms your sonic experience. Just as you’d expect, the six-pack bass system delivers ground-shaking bass, whatever the volume. More than this, though, the addition of bass stacks delivers a more immersive bass with a more natural perspective. Use in a Dolby Atmos or similar 3D surround system and you’ll find that overhead effects have greatly increased realism and ‘heft’.
Separate levels pre-set for your hi-fi and home cinema
If you use your subwoofer for both home cinema and hi-fi, the REL S/550 is ideal. Traditionally, the problem with using a sub with both home cinema and music systems is the difference in presence required. Whereas films often require the sub to be turned up for the greatest thrills, music demands a more subtle approach. With the REL S/550, you get separate level controls for stereo and LFE .1 surround. This means you get the ideal levels for both hi-fi and AV, without the need to constantly change the settings.
Wireless capable*
Add the optional REL AirShip II system and make this REL wireless. REL’s wireless systems offer zero compression, wireless connection for the ultimate balance of sound quality and convenience. The AirShip II supports both High-Level connection and .1/LFE signals, making it one of the best wireless subwoofer systems available.
