With its exceptional quality stylus and body, the Sumiko Amethyst beats many similarly priced Moving Coil (MC) cartridges. This means you get the convenience of a Moving Magnet cartridge – replaceable stylus and works with almost any phono input – but with the enhanced sound quality of a typical MC cartridge.
Nude Line-Contact stylus for exceptional sound
Featuring a Nude Line-Contact stylus, the Amethyst offers a substantial upgrade over the Moonstone. Line-Contact styli are more finely shaped, letting them drop deeper into the grove. This lets the stylus retrieve more detail, giving a brighter and more textured top end.
Enhanced body for ultra-low distortion
Using a bespoke body, the Amethyst offers even lower levels of distortion than the already impressive Moonstone. An upgraded generator assembly promotes ultra-low levels of background noise, superior tracking and enhanced dynamics – all of which help the Amethyst deliver its class-leading sound. Pure copper internal wiring lets even the tiniest musical detail flow through, unimpeded.
Easy installation
Featuring an overhead mounting design with threaded slots, the Amethyst is easy to install and set-up. Replacement styli are also available and easy to fit when required.
