Designed to work as 3D effect speakers, the Wharfedale Diamond 12 3Ds sit on top of your front, cinema sound speakers, firing the output towards the ceiling. Ideal for use with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D formats, this is a simple way of getting sound from above, without having to install ceiling speakers. The result is that movie soundtracks now sound more lifelike, with drenching rain and overhead aircraft brought to life.

Developed for optimal performance when placed on top of the Diamond 12.3 speakers, the 12 3Ds not only fit aesthetically, they also match the acoustic qualities, giving you a seamless sound. Just like the other Diamond speakers, they feature Klarity cone material. This uses a hybrid construction to give lightning-fast response in the bass and mid-range, while the woven textile tweeter delivers the perfect balance between detail and refinement.

Engineered with computer-modelled bracing, the Diamond 12 3D speakers are free from the distorting ‘boxy’ sound that can afflict smaller speakers. In short, you get to hear the soundtrack, precisely as the producer intended.

Bit early for a review yet but...
I haven't got much Atmos content yet to test these with so it's a bit hard to leave a review but the little bit I have heard has been a welcome addition, it just adds subtly to the sound field. Looking forward to testing it more and enjoying more overhead content.
