Yamaha YSP2700 (Black)
"The most convincing surround sound experience you'll get outside a full 5.1 system." 'What Hi-Fi? magazine'. 5-star review. Tested at £800.
Surround sound from a single speaker
The Yamaha YSP-2700 offers the illusion of speakers all around without the associated boxes and wires. The Yamaha does this by bouncing sound off the walls, from just two sources (including the subwoofer) to give a room-filling sound that could easily convince you in to thinking there are many more speakers at work. With 16 dedicated speakers and amps, the surround sound effect is the most convincing of any soundbar in its class.
IntelliBeam for the most tailored response
IntelliBeam ensures optimum multi-channel set-up by constant and precise monitoring and analysis of sound output via the supplied microphone. A wide choice of beam settings let you tailor the sound to your exact requirements including whether you're listening to stereo music or film in surround sound.
Powerful bass response
Thanks to the separate, active subwoofer, this soundbar also has real clout. With its dedicated amplifier, the subwoofer puts the 'thud' into action films, for armrest-gripping home cinema. The subwoofer is wireless, too, meaning that it can be placed wherever is convenient in the room (mains connection required).
MusicCast for music all around your home
The Yamaha YSP2700 is fully compatible with Yamaha's hugely impressive network audio system, MusicCast. With MusicCast you can control all your compatible Yamaha MusicCast products via your smartphone or tablet. Play the same music on all the components or split the sound into different zones for different moods in each room; the choice is yours.
Advanced networking including Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth
Built-in Apple AirPlay means that you can stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly. If you use another brand of smartphone or tablet then you've also got Bluetooth, for easy music streaming from your portable device.
Wi-Fi, DLNA and a smart app for effortless streaming
Also standard with the YSP-2700 is Wi-Fi, giving easy connection to your home network. A DLNA certified connection makes streaming a breeze. You can access your stored music from PC, laptop or NAS drive and listen to Internet radio stations and music services such as Spotify Premium, Qobuz and Napster. Another great feature is the free Apple or Android app that lets you control many of the soundbar's functions from your smartphone, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or tablet.
Connect it all
Featuring three HDMI inputs, it's easy to connect up a Blu-ray player, games console and set-top box, as well as your TV. The sockets are compatible with HDR, HDCP2.2 and UHD 4K, meaning they'll work with the current generation of UHD4K Blu-ray players and TVs. Other inputs include both optical and coaxial digital inputs plus analogue phono inputs for your music sources.
Sleek new style
With a height of just 51mm, the YSP2700 is much slimmer than its predecessors. This low height means that it won't block your TV's picture or remote sensor. The minimalist design and aluminium chassis matches the sleekest TVs. Tuck the subwoofer out of sight and you'll have room-filling sound without the visual impact of traditional surround sound systems.
Get the impact of the cinema without the boxes, with the Yamaha YSP2700.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnthonyD from Sounds interesting Wanted to improve the sound quality based on my current TV sound bar. looked at a number of options. The Yamaha YSP2700 ticked all the boxes from my set criteria. Purchased the YSP 2700. The sound quality is excellent as you really feel you are “at the concert” There are many options regarding settings and it took me a couple of days to get it to my requirements however, this was part of the fun of owning the YSP2700. The acoustic range for the size of the unit is amazing and many of my friends find it hard to believe it comes from this one unit. If you want a good sound without all the wires and speakers I don’t think you can do better than the YSP2700. The unit has good connectivity that just adds to its appeal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PaulCC from Huge improvement What a great difference this has made to listening pleasure. I can now hear clearly all the spoken words on any tv programme. Works very well in spite of being in a far from ideal room configuration. Was very easy to set up with the special microphone provided and the internet radio facility has made classic fm a real pleasure to listen to. Once again I was surprised at how easy that was to set up. Also had an excellent deal on it, so the right price certainly tempted me into purchasing a top quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LesA from Great Sound We recently bought this excellent soundbar. It gives a truly amazing surround sound experience without the need for all the speakers. My wife and I have tested it on action movies, sports, wildlife documentaries etc and the range of sounds has been extremely good. Relatively easy to set up as well ( it took us about 30 to 40 minutes )

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chris 1968 from Great sound and a brand you can rely on I did a lot of research before deciding to go with this sound bar. I had a 13 year old 5.1 Yamaha surround sound system already, but wanted to get rid of the clutter. It came in a huge box, but this read to accommodate the sub woofer. Set up was straight forward, I went for optical from TV to the sound bar, after having a free issues with the arc hdmi connection. The sub connects via Bluetooth automatically, so no need to do any pairing. I used the supplied cardboard pyramid and intellibeam microphone to set up the best skins for the living room. This can be fine visa the soundbar or Yamaha app. I downloaded some Dolby Atmos test videos and the sound is incredible. Birds sounding like they are flying round the room. The Yamaha app has a great net radio feature to let you steam loads of different types of music. This may have been out for over 2 years, but I can't recommend it enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MAB1 from Great sound f I bought this sound bar on the recommendation of a sound system geek friend and have no regrets. Before I bought it I used a Bose sound bar which i thought was good but the Yamaha knocks it out of the park. Fantastic sound across all modes - cinema, sport, music and general entertainment. No need for a surround sound system when a single sound bar delivers such great performance.
