Although not as effective as conventional, closed-back, noise-cancelling headphones*, Audio Technica’s noise reduction system helps reduce background noise to a minimum. Ideal for using in busy transport terminals, at home or work, the system takes the edge off background noise. It works in both wired and wireless formats and is conveniently accessed via a button on the right earcup.

Fully charged, the ATH-AL5NC headphones are good for up to 75 hours playtime. Switch on the noise reduction system and the battery life remains an impressive 50 hours. If you’re running late, a quick 15-minute charge is all that’s needed for an additional eight hours listening time (five hours with noise-reduction).
