Like the VMN95E, the Nude or ‘N’ model features an elliptical stylus. This is more finely profiled than more basic conical ones, meaning the stylus gets further into the groove and pulls out more of your music.
Where the N version goes one better is with its nude stylus. A nude stylus features a one-piece tip and shank, rather than one being bonded to the other. This is more expensive to make but means better sound quality. Because weight is reduced, the stylus tracks better, giving more accurate sound. You’ll hear the biggest improvement in the treble, with enhanced detail and realism.
A further benefit with nude styli is improved diamond grain alignment. With the grain alignment optimised, it means the diamond is more wear resistant and therefore lasts longer before you need to upgrade.
